Latest reviews for CAMPING DE LA BASTIDE
We have stayed at the campsite many times and yet again had a wonderful holiday. The site is very peaceful and all of the facilities, including a lovely pool, are immaculately kept by Peter and his family. We have camped in places across France and this is without doubt the best of the sites we’ve been to. We will definitely return.
A lovely site set on the banks of the dordogne. Peter very helpful and we noticed him helping people on to their pitch if needed.Facilities were spotless as well as the pool area.Easy entrance from the road to the site.
Lovely clean campsite, very quiet and nice size pitches , wish we could have stayed longer, just a short walk to all the shops and restaurants and a lovely walk along the river , we had a nice cycle ride to Bergerac the place is stunning and worth a visit .
We camped on this great little site for a week. It’s on the river so affords lovely views but due to the current on that side you cannot access the water; this isn’t a problem though as there is a lovely beach with shade and lifeguards on the other side less than 10 mins drive if you want to have a splash & a change from the lovely pool. It’s spotlessly clean and well maintained and the owners are very helpful; we had a large tent with us that was at the end of its life & the owners kindly offered to dispose of it once we’d departed. It’s probably the quietest and most peaceful site we’ve stayed at. The small town is a 10 min walk away with nice places to eat, supermarket & attached Pizza takeaway shack which is fantastic (ring ahead). It’s also good base to get the train to st Emilion, Bergerac & Bordeaux which are all worth a visit. Thoroughly recommend.
Stayed on 2 occasions, both times in our motor home. Facilities are good to very good, location is directly on the river-side (Dordogne) though it’s not accessible due to the steep bank. Most importantly though is the attitude of the people who were all friendly, helpful & welcoming on every interaction. Highly recommended.
