Latest reviews for CAMPING MUNICIPAL LES OYATS
Update 2024; still awesome!!----Fantastic camping site within easy walk of L'Amelie sur plage. Lovely helpful staff and clean facilities
The Location is pretty and the beach nearby was a joy too, on a sunny day.The people however are a different story.First off, there's not much english being spoken, which is pretty usual for france but still a struggle when oneself is not handy with the french language. Then there's the long-term guests. After greeting us while putting up our tent, they proceeded to not talk to us for the rest of the stay - also when we were having a few beers and talking about life, the sun and the stars amongst 3 friends. Then, after spending the next day at the beach and a night-market the next town over, we were greeted by a gate that wouldn't open (which we weren't told about) and a security guard! that, with a very stern expression on his face, told us that there is to be no talking!!! after 11pm.The long-term guests in their houses supposedly came by the reception and complained about excessive noise coming from 3 people talking during the night...There was never any indication that there was too much noise, no plea to reduce it or anything to suggest that talking was hindering anyone's sleep. It is hard not to feel more unwanted on a campsite.Ironically, during the following night there was quite some talking going on in the houses surrounding our campsite - even after 11 pm. Some double standards at play here.------------The sanitary facilities are very disappointing for the price you pay per night (30€). No soap, toilet paper, toilet bowl seats. Only a very disturbing stench und unclean toilets right next to the dishwashing sinks. The showers also looked very tired and the tiles were laid so that the water flows to the middle of the room so everyone that wants to use the toilet gets to step in it.-------------Not coming back.Try looking for a spot to spend the night near the beach with no one bothering you and you will feel much more relaxed and able to enjoy your holiday.
Our tent pitch was full of ants nests and there wasn't even space between them for our small tent so we were immediately infested by thousands of ants. Don't pay until you have inspected your pitch. Also, very expensive in peak season with no concession for those with no car and just a tiny tent.
Really nice and worth the visit..recommend to all.
The pits. Go somewhere else
