What a beautiful campsite in the depths of the French countryside. The most precious thing about this campsite is the staff. So friendly, helpful, kind, accommodating and thoughtful. They helped me so much when my car broke down onsite and helped me get it sorted. Would highly recommend with stunning scenery around the area with everything you need in very close proximity. Will definitely come again. ❤️💛💚
Wow what an amazing experience we had staying at Camping la Comtesse.... Me, my partner and our daughter had booked a campsite in Brittany for 8 nights. While in Brittany we had mixed weather and the forecast was very grim rain rain rain so after two days of this we decided to look at a new campsite somewhere in the south of France and this is when my partner found Camping la Comtesse! We decided to do it so we took the tent down packed the car up and checked out at the reception and left at around 1800 en route South of France. We arrived at Camping la Comtesse on the Wednesday midday and was met by a bubbly really nice and helpful lady at reception that turned out to be the owner. She was very friendly and made us feel at ease straight away. We went to our grass pitch which was a great size with an electric hook up close by. We set up and went to the pool which was stunning. The pool is close to the bar/restaurant and also by the lake that can be fished on. The pool is unmanned and feels more like a private pool not overly busy. The blocks of toilets/showers are always close by and are very clean and not outdated either. The campsite is surrounded by nature and greenery so stunning. The bar is managed by a man called Juan and what a character he is! He has a real good sense of humour and is very helpful also his food is amazing we had paella one night and it was wonderful. There is a spar shop 3 minute drive up the hill to get fresh baguettes in the morning and supermarkets within 15 minutes away. The owner suggested we go to Hossegor beach which was amazing, for sure recommend that. San Sebastian just over the border in Spain is about 1hr 20m to the city centre I also recommend a visit there. We were gutted to leave camping la Comtesse but we will 💯 go back one day.
We stayed for 12 nights here while visiting our son who was working nearby. We were really impressed with our pitch and how much space we had and I don't think any of the pitches were that far from either of the two shower blocks. These were kept clean on a regular basis and there were plenty of showers so we never had to wait. The real bonus was the lovely swimming pool! It's of a generous size and in lovely settings. The slides were fun too. Friendly staff who clearly work hard to keep the place looking lovely and provided entertainment on some evenings at the snack bar over looking the lake. Occasionally a little noisy at night but that depended on which guests were there at the time but nothing too serious. All in all a lovely holiday. Thank you .
A lovely campsite! Would definitely recommend. We found the Camping La Contesse on Google Maps and were glad we had. In fact, we loved the site so much, we extended our stay twice. The site has great facilities for all the family, including a beautiful swimming pool, kids’ pool, water slides and restaurant, as well as table tennis, trampoline, bouncy castle, boules and darts. The pitches are huge, surrounded by little hedges which give privacy and the trees provide lots of shade. The wash areas are clean and there is lots of hot water for showers (free) and doing dishes / laundry. There is also a washing machine and dryer for use by the residents of the site.We got a warm welcome from the owners who were very helpful and friendly. A special thanks has to go to Juan, the manager of the restaurant where we ate out most nights (unusual for us!) because the food was so good. We can particularly recommend the paella and the flambéed dessert that he made for us!! He was a mine of information and when we enquired about where we could get Foie Gras, he organised a visit to a nearby farm and accompanied us to it to help translate. What service!! A big thank you to Juan and the owners for making this such a pleasant and memorable experience. 😊
Pleasantly surprised by this very nice camping! About 30mins from Capbreton, so close enough to the beach. Campsites with shade, clean/hygienic facilities. If I have to point out a downside: no bakery/ bread service, however there is a very good bakery 13mins/13km away (Josse) (and probably closer by, however we haven't found it yet ;). )
