Latest reviews for CAMPING OYAM
We loved our stay in this campaign. It was awesome! we were in the lodge kind of tent and we thought it would be very hard but actually it was great because all of the facilities were very clean and working so well. Showers are very clean and everyone working at camping is so nice! Thank you very much! 🥳😎✨
Let’s start with the good stuff:- large emplacements- great Eurocamp rep- good value for money- beautiful flowers and trees, immaculately keptHowever-- Service in the bar was very patchy. Said it closed at 9.30 (which is ridiculously early), though sometimes served beyond this. Loads of staff on but did little to keep customers. Didn’t even show all the Euro games! Having been to lots of other campsites we missed having the bar as a social centre & it felt like a missed opportunity for the campsite to provide better service & make profits!- No shop on site. This was an issue for us as the shop in Bidart was tiny, closed at 8pm and was a 15 min walk away. The supermarkets were a 30 min uphill walk.- Entertainment programme started 1st July. Site was already busy so would be good to make this earlier. Pool party was great for the teenagers. But no adverts/communications as to what was on when. Other sites put posters up.: Transport. Bus stop is a 15 min walk away. Buses to Biarritz are only every hour and stop early evening. Buses to Bayonne/Biarritz airport/St Jean De Luz are every 30 mins and last one back from the latter is around 9.30pm. So you really are stuck in Bidart at night, which is tiny, without a car.Overall - a lovely site but I would only recommend it if you have a car with you. If going back with my family, I’d opt to stay in St Jean de Luz instead.
We liked:-the friendly and helpful staff-the site is very beautiful with lots of flowers and plants/trees-the plots are spacious-the food in the Restaurant was good-very quietly locatedWe slightly disliked:-quite long distances to sanitary areas-no shop on site to buy the necessary things like water or groceries
We're a family of four (2 adults + 2 teens) and we loved staying at Camping Oyam last Spetember 2022. The Staff was very friendly and the location was pretty well kept and mantained. The pool and the mini-water park was great, with plenty of space for everyone. A short walk to Bidart's centre and local beaches.
Have stayed here every year for 33 years and watched the campsite grow. I'm not that easy to please and would not have returned if service was shoddy and staff surly.Campsite has recently upgraded with the addition of a fabulous leisure pool, and caters well for all comers.Very convenient for the many beaches and other activities in the Basque region, always something new to do.A mainly family run campsite, with several holiday company reps managing some mobile homes on site.Well worth a stay.
