MERKO-LACARRA

One of the best sites we’ve ever stayed at, staff are very friendly, site immaculate with showers, toilets and laundry facilities spotless, quiet at night you can hear the ocean. Literally 3 minutes away from 2 beaches that are beautiful and cleaned daily, couple of small bars across the road from the campsite, regular bus service literally the entrance to campsite that will take you out and about of you wish to sightsee. I wish all sites were as good as this one…..it’s perfect and 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A perfect campsite!! Incredibly friendly staff, very clean facilities, quiet at night (you can hear the sea!), and beautiful surroundings. AND it is literally across the street from a fantastic beach that has lifeguards, bathrooms, and cafes. We did not miss the 'extras' of other sites like a pool etc because of how comfortable and welcome we felt. Great proximity to Biarritz, St Jean de Luz and San Sebastien as well. We were there for 2 nights (arrived without a reservation, we have a small tent) with our 10 year old twins and didn't want to leave! Highly recommend.

We staid in Camping Merko Lacarra from 2nd of April 2023 to 9 of April 2023.We camped with our tent and were 2 people. When we arrived it rained and at night it was cold outside. So we spent our evenings in the tent or in different towns. Now we know at this time of year it is too cold for camping at the Atlantic coast. 🤷‍♂️During the day we spend a lot of time at the beach which is just next to the camping (2 min walking). Also the huge supermarket "Carrefour" is just 5 min away by car.And the owner's of the camping with their family members attended us always very kindly. Lots of good information, good WiFi solutions and very clean wash house facility! We recommend this camping :) :)

Beautiful place with ocean sound when you fall asleep :) very friendly staff and reception, we paid 17€ per night for 2 people and a van, no electricity. Extremely clean showers and toilets, also hot water :) there’s a bis to Saint Jean de luz for 1€ per ride, bus stop is right in front of the camp site. Some beach bars near by, with food trucks and good drinks. We will definitely come back!

Friendly family run site. Spacious pitches clean modern shower blocks. Our second year here only intended to stay for 3 nights but stayed for 9 its a 2 minute stroll to a great beach...not always supervised, some good surf.Beach shacks selling drinks and food too good to miss, also pizza bar stroll away.Camp site also has it's own little bar meals and snacks cooked to order and very reasonable. Bread and pastries to order.Very tidy has it's own veg garden.
