Latest reviews for CAMPING MUNICIPAL LE GRAND PRÉ
We had a lovely stop over here on out tour of France. Set in some woodland it is very pretty and only a short walk into the small town (beautiful views of the river and weir). We were welcomed by staff on arrival and offered a breakfast delivery (well worth it, the croissants and pain aux chocolat were divine). The facilities were clean and functional, the showers are a little agricultural but private and clean. All in all a lovely stop over and would gladly visit again.
Very good municipal , just over the bridge ftom the pleasant town . good pitches snd facilities . pleasant english couple running it . recommended ( well priced fro the cyclist )
Camping le Grand Pre is a really lovely campsite. It's in a beautiful position next to the river and the local village is really pretty with a handy, well-stocked mini market and a fabulous boulangerie. The site itself is really spacious with very large pitches. You can choose if you want a sunny or shady spot. The washblocks are kept really clean and there are plenty of toilets, sinks & showers. There is loads to see and do in the local area. We stayed 6 nights but could happily have stayed longer. There are bell tents and caravans to rent if you don't want to pitch your own. You can get fresh coffee and croissants on site, as well as wine etc in the evening. What really makes the whole experience though is the wonderful couple who run it. Patrick & Linda give such a warm welcome and take care to ensure you have a great stay. If you like quiet, beautiful campsites, in a very natural environment, then definitely come here.
Everything you'd want from a small countryside campsite. Clean toilets, clean showers, a shop and a bar. Really lovely area. We had a very nice 2 day canoe trip down to the camp site and then beyond to La Roche En Posay. Fantastic.
Beautiful campsite run by a lovely, friendly couple. They speak English, German and French. The toilets and showers are very clean and there is a little shop where you can get a good coffee for just one Euro. The campsite is situated close to the river gartempe which is really nice for fishing. You can also rent some kayaks at the campsite and discover the river by boat. Perfect place for families with children as their are lot of things to do around there. We'll definitely come back next year! Thank you for a very nice stay!
