Fantastic site. Lovely large pitches. Nice owner too. Beautiful mill building and town is lovely. Ate at Le St. Savin. Good choice.Had the nut roast - delicious.Do not be put off by people saying sanitaire block is old and dated. It is very clean and functions perfectly. Showers great and even music. Top class site.
Lovely little campsite. Stunning views by the river
What a lovely quiet little site. Walking distance away from the town of Saint savin, bakeries and restaurants.Staff very friendly, sanitaires were clean and maintainedLovely Riverside locationWill definitely recommend and use again
If tenting, the ground is the Holy Grail, the Goldilocks of ground. Ground soft enough to get your tent pegs into yet firm enough to hold them in place(the last camp site I went to was so hard an air cannon was require to install the pegs). The pitches are semi shaded, large and level. Pretty much perfect. The facilities are basic but clean. There is a distinct lack of dustbins on site which requires a walk to the toilet block to use the two small bins there. My other gripe, and for the love of God I don’t know why campsites do this, but you have to provide your own toilet paper. Is a campsites profit margin so slender that toilet paper is the deal breaker? Finally there is no food on site but the town centre is just a short walk away with a selection of bars and restaurants. Nearly forgot, it is generally blissfully quiet here except last night ( a Saturday) when the local discotheque could be heard in the distance. This in turn got a nearby pack of dogs sporadically barking for a large portion of the night all of which I would have gleefully shot. Twice.
Beautiful campsite good sanitary block lovely mowed green grass placements in a stunning village (visit the cafe/restaurant in the Abbey’s square)
