Latest reviews for CAMPING DES GROTTES
Good campsite, very nice location and good swimming pool for kids. Family run campsite but owners not overly friendly, they do their job but not too much more. Wi-fi connection pretty terrible so be warned if you need to stay connected. Chalets are comfortable and camping toilets and showers are OK. Be careful of renting a chalet at the end of the campsite by the forge. Work starts at the forge at 07:00 sometimes and it is noisey.
Good campsite with gorgeous views. We looked at a few in the area (we were there on a sunny April week) and this was the nicest for great facilities, secluded area and a nice pitches for tents, we picked one with its own little stream!Would recommend if you have your own transport to get to local activities (we were sport climbing in the area, which was fantastic!).Only comment is the baguettes and pastries were a bit more expensive then you could get in town, but that is what you might expect for the convenience!Highly recommended.
Lovely campsite in a beautiful location. Spacious pitches and excellent facilities. Close to the Cave of Niaux and it's original cave art. You can see the cave entrance from the camp.
We have stayed at this camping in July with our 4 children. I really liked the location in the middle of the mountains, especially in the pool you can see them surrounding you with a view of the Niaux caves. There is a small restaurant next to the pool, where you can have a children's menu for 7,50 EUR or a main course for 10-15 EUR. Adjacent there is also a free bouncy castle and a playground to entertain children while they wait for the food. The restrooms are a bit outdated and the shower button needs to be pushed every 10 seconds (!).The camping store provides fresh baguettes, pain au chocolates and croissants daily for 1 EUR per item.I can recommend Camping des Grottes for families with small children under 10, older children might be looking for a different kind of entertainment.
Sometimes the meaning of campsite is lost.in the king size you see along the Mediterranean Coast are very far from camping. Des Grottes and another beautiful little campsite called la Serre are some of the most beautiful CAMPSITES around . Lots of outdoor e things to do, a beautiful little stream running right next to it, and in the mountains sides
