Latest reviews for CAMPING LA COMMANDERIE
A wonderful and quiet place to spend time and visit Carcassone. The town just nearby (Trèbes) is a cozy nice small town, and Carcassone is a historical site full of history and stories. The camping has a pool with a wonderful view, a snack bar for a nice meal and welcoming staff. Toilets are interesting as they are mixed and very open, with a peculiar arquitechture for a camping toilet. They can be not enough on “rush hours”. They are well aired and clean (but as everywhere in France, there is no toilet paper). Showers have hangers, support for your clothes and towel, and support for the soap or shampoo!! (It’s rare). There is some shade provided by many trees. Maybe not enough in very hot days. For the kids there is a good looking playground beside the pool. You can also rent bikes and other services. Camping ground can be rather hard and not always with grass in summer season. People respect the silence in the evening and during the day. A place to came back and stay.
**No prices for cyclists anymore!**Even though they still have an EMPLACEMENT RANDONNEUR on their website, they do not offer this anymore. You have to pay the full price (24 euros). It is a pity because they have very pretty spots for cyclists with benches. However, they don’t give them to cyclists anymore, and I was told they will soon be removed.I did not feel welcomed. The receptionist put me in a slot with a lot of mud and very little grass. I don’t understand why they are not more considerate, and don’t try to accommodate people according to their needs, especially if they have everything (still) on site.Showers and toilets are pretty new and clean. The campsite is located beautifully.
Good campsite.mix up on pitch but was soon sorted by very efficient and english speaking staff. Would definately book again. Wish we had booked on our last visit to the area. Toilets and showers immaculate. Pool area looked good but no time to use.
Nice size pitches with hedges between, we were in the most populated row. There was one toilet, two showers and 2 sinks plus laundry sink. The other block was under the swimming pool terrace down tiled steps which was bigger and fewer campers in that field area which was more open. No toilet paper or hand drying but did supply soap although empty in the larger block.A site to rest and relax in. It was nice to hear the nightingale sing.Handy for Carcassonne which we unfortunately weren't able to visit on our one night stop.Pool and restaurant were not open.
Very nice camping. The pitches are big enough and the toilets are incredibly clean. Many services for kids as well, including a table tennis table. Carcassone is super close and a must see.Why not 5 stars? If you are a man and you want to use the swim pool you have to use one of those tiny and skinny swim shorts or briefs, and not the normal shorts everyone normally wears. They say this is for ‘igienic’ reasons, but probably is more because they sell the ‘right’ swimwear for 10 euros.
