Latest reviews for RCN VAL DE CANTOBRE
Our stay was ok here, but that was mainly we made something off it.But there are a lot pain points on the park. Normally bathroom cleaning should occur every day(or twice a day) here it didnt happen 1 in 2 weeks. Besides thats the water in the shower and at the dishes was constantly cold. And last the power was constantly cut.Staff is nice and friendly, but in a tight regime of the manager it seems. As they are not allowed to make their own calls. Also everything closes early. Like the pool closes at 19, snackcorner at 20 and restaurant kitchen at 21.
This has the most beautiful setting in the hills. It’s quiet with just enough entertainment. There’s greenery all around. If you struggle walking uphill then this place isn’t for you as it’s set in a hill. The reception staff is very friendly. As is the maintenance staff. Most of the people are Dutch because it’s a Dutch company. There are some great rivers about 20-25 minutes away. Now for the negatives:It’s 40 minutes from the nearest big town (supermarkets). However, the town is really lovely. It has a market and restaurants / cafes. The really big negative is the pool area. It’s far too small for the number of people. It could and should be double the size. The pool is usually very crowded with lots of splashing. It could do with more slides too. There aren’t enough sun beds or shade either. Plus the water is not heated so it’s very cold. Despite its beauty and quietness, this would put me off coming back. The two negatives are huge! It’s such a pity because it’s a wonderful setting.
We first stayed in tents here 45+ years ago when we were many years. As we grew older and wanted more comfort, we stayed in mobile homes . These days we need more comfort and convenience than that, so are looking at chalets.COVID-19 and travel restrictions have kept us largely at home, but this year, with more freedom to travel, we intend to return to this area we love and which makes an ideal location for visiting Millau, la Couvertoirade, les Causses etc. Highly recommended!
Very nice Dutch oriented camping. The camping places are situated on terraces and are not very big but big enough for our 7 meter caravan. The activity team speaks Dutch, English, French and German. Only downside is the new shower building.the water is mostly cold and the buttons to activate the showers often do not work. All and al we had a very pleasant stay and if they fix the shower issue we will certainly come again
The campsite is in a stunning location with great facilities. Very family oriented. The staff are very friendly & so helpful. On arrival we were given a guide book containing lots of things to do & see in the area. The book also contains a good few walks & the trails are very well marked & easy to follow. There's also loads more tourist info in the reception building. The river on the campsite is safe to swim in and the pool on site is heated. We're one week into your two we stay and very happy to be here. We're two adults & a dog in a tent.
