Latest reviews for CAMPING LES LIBELLULES
awesome! I love the environment and it is very cosy, in the morning you can eat delicious croissants and baguettes and the pizza in the evenings is also super tasty. The river is very nice and fun for your children. The camping houses are also clean and not dirty and the people who work there are very nice. I definitely recommend this campsite if you want a pleasant family holiday.
Starting off with the positives: this camping has a beautiful location, being very remote inside a forest with quite some shadowy spots, and alongside a river with water that's high enough to swim in. The people staying there are also very kind; lots of young parents with kids, who get plenty of opportunity to make friends and play together. That being said though, there were some definite downsides to the camping. First off, the sanitary facilities are straight up nasty. It seems like the staff never cleans; at least, we haven't seen it happen even once during our week-long stay there. This entire week there were multiple spots that were ostensibly not cleaned at all, such as a clogged drain with a piece of bell pepper that remained there for our entire stay. Furthermore, the toilet brushes were always disgusting, stinking up the place and being an eye-sore in general. There is also no soap, anywhere, just a pump of desinfectant alcohol, which was rarely refilled. The showers only have a single temperature available, which was extremely hot, especially for the 35°C weather, which is not uncommon in Southern France. There was also no light in the sanitary buildings at some points, even when it was already dark out. The funny thing about all this is that, even though there was no attention payed at all to the sanitary, the showers were locked after 10.30pm; they didn't find that too much of an effort apparently.Second, even though the staff was decently kind, their service was rather lackluster. They misinformed us on multiple occasions about the timeframes in which the local markets would occur. As if that wasn't bothersome enough, they also forgot our breakfast order on the day of our departure, and even claimed that it was our own mistake because we didn't put in an order (which we're sure we did). They also didn't offer any alternative like having someone pick up the breakfast yet. Because of this we had to pack up our stuff in the boiling heat, without having properly eaten beforehand.Third, even though the website claims that the camping has Wi-Fi service, there is actually no service at all most of the time. On rare occassion you would be able to receive or send a text message, but websites, images, or videos were never available.Lastly, the drive there is kind of rough, being 10 minutes through a narrow forest road, but there were some indents to let opposing vehicles pass by. The ground is also very dry and tough to get through when setting up your tent, so keep that in mind as well. This also made it so that there were constant clouds of sand/dust, making everything around you dirty. Things getting dirty is a part of camping, but it is good to keep in mind.
Went there to ask if we could have dinner since it was late and we did not have any food with us. They said they dont serve exterior people in a very rude way. My friend then walked to the beach to have a quick look and got chased away by the owner of the camping place. Horrible people working there. Dont come.
Nice river nearby, camping focuses on families with small kids, rather noisy. Camping spots mostly close to each other, hence noisy again. Ask for a spot away from the facility buildings.
Great camping ground! Most of the visitors are Dutch or Belgian. Nice river for the kids to play in.
