CAMPING LE BOIS DES ÉCUREUILS

Cheap and cheerful for our 1 night stay while travelling. We didn’t use the shower block as it didn’t look clean however it’s a lovely peaceful setting and the staff were very nice. With a bit of care and attention this could be a really lovely campsite.

I've visited menu camp sites in Europe but this one is on top of my list of worst I ever visited. Apart from typical France campsite (you are lacky if somebody speak English at reception, no regulation hot/cold voter at showers, overpriced) this one was exceptionally bad. Toilets are exceptionally dirty and just washed by water hose. Day we were staying there group of young people were bowling with heavy metal balls just in front of showers facilities with out any care for people passing by. Laud music until very late at night, dog pup at tent pitch... Better sleep in car if this is your last option.

Sadly can't give more stars even though the owner was friendly and the price was cheap. The location was convenient but not lovely but the site was not clean and I'm not usually that bothered about a little muck. It also seemed a semi permanent dwellers site with a few grubby and mouldy old caravans in some pitches that looked as though they hadn't moved for years. Sorry but can't recommend.

If I wasn’t a cycle trip and needed a place to stay I would have definitely avoided this place. No cleaned toilets. No cleaned shower room.
