Latest reviews for CAMPING MAS DE LA CAM
Big campground located at a river, with pitches shaded by trees. We were there right at the end of the season, so it was almost empty. The pitches are very spatious. You can order fantastic fresh bread/baguette for the next morning. The owners are super welcoming and friendly.Thank you so much for having us!
The people that run this nice camping are extremely friendly and helpful. The campground is nice and shady and there is a great pool and a river to cool down when the temperature rises too high to your liking. A simple meal and a drink can be enjoyed at the terras. A nice camping for families with children up to 10 years old.
This camping is a neat terrace camping ground with about 300 places. There are no permanent mobile home places and a couple of appartements in the main building at the entrance. The camping has large places along all the lane, however when having a place at the beginning of the camping you will get all the traffic passing by your tent. The cars are parked at your camping ground spot, which results in lanes with parks cars, instead of tents and mobiles homes.Ths swimming pool is perfect for kids and adults. Two pools and free beds around the water. No shorts aloud. The water during the colder dates may be a little too cold for the smaller kids. The river down the camping site is also fun, but some water shoes might be a good idea. The camping has three bathroom buildings spread over the site. All facilities are mixed gender. This results in wet toiletseats...Although in general the sanitary is clean, we could wish for more cleaning during high season where the capacity of toilets and showers is short. Free hot water during showers is great, but a lot of (young) people make it a social event, thus holding the line.We have noticed one big cleaning a day for the building and after a we filled a complaint about dirty toilets (specially in the evening and morning) we got a response that the sanitary is inspected 5 times a day.The owner gave us not a very welcome feeling. Perhaps the high season is a stressful period. Although he handles business professional, we are having a holiday and not doing business then.In general I think this camping is a very nice camping outside the high season period and it might gotten a better review from me. But this camping is during the peak seasons not capable maintain the high standard it present itself with.
We stayed only 2 nights at this campsite: so we are not that experienced. We are grateful for squeezing us in ( we had minor car-trouble and could not easily go on).1. The main pool is fairly cold.2. Parasols are not allowed in the main pool terrace. There is virtually no shade.3. In the pool-area there is a culture of stealing seats whenever one is not covered with a piece of personal property (like a towel). In most other situations someone will ask if a seat is taken, but not here.4. The pitches are tiny and the campsite is jam-packed: using any available piece of land to service more customers.5. The shop, campsite etc are OK: fairly priced and with plenty of space for recreation and a lovely playgound for up to 12 yr olds.6. We left because we were unplugged from the electricity. When we arrived we were given the option of a tiny pitch with electricity or a big pitch with no electricity and took the one with electricity. After a day we found an employee had told new arrivals to unplug us because the new arrivals had booked with electricity prior to our arrival; leading us to have to throw away a small fridge with food.We were then told that we had not asked for electricity on our arrival (which we denied, why would they have indicated on our map where we could plug in electricity at pitch 163?). On our departure they printed the bill and then deducted for not having electricity on the second day. IF THEY HAD PUT US IN THE SYSTEM AS HAVING ELECTRICITY THEN WHY DID THEY FIRST TELL US WE WERE LYING OR HAD MISUNDERSTOOD AND SUBSEQUENTLY PRESENTED US WITH A BILL WHICH CLEARLY SAID WE WOULD GET ELECTRICITY AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT????We rated their servicea as poor because of their fist accusing us of lying (you were not entitled to electricity in that picth) and subsequently presenting us with a bill for electricity. The pitches have some non-Dutch, but the vast majority of the occupants are Dutch with some French, Belgians, Germans and UK citicens added for good measure. The menus in the ar are printed in French and Dutch.
Lovely ambience, exceptionally clean toilets, dog friendly, would thoroughly recommend
