I only can smile when I think of my few days spent at this campsite. Receptionist was very nice and between French/Spanish/English helped us out. Bathroom facilities were so clean, they were brand new, felt like I had hit camping gold here!!! For those of you wondering, yes on toilet paper, no on toilet seat, but again so clean, even when the camp filled up to full capacity, it was not an issue. Warm showers, private sink cabins with a mirror. Hope that this will remain this clean for a while. The site is along the river, the whole day the sound of water flowing over stones is very peaceful. Pitches were large, but not very private, trees for shade but not hedges to afford a bit of privacy. Location to Gavarnie was 3 kms (uphill, not so busy on Sept so doable) by bike. We drove to the Petit Tren in Troumouse to hike there. Bread service everyday. The lady working at the bar/restaurant was very nice! We ate at the restaurant and another night did take away salad and fries as we didn't find greens at the supermarket. She was very helpful!! She allowed me to try out my French when ordering. Hiking paths into the woods were either side of the camping. Many come here for only one or 2 nights it seemed, but you really can stay here longer! We were here 3 nights as we were heading to Spain. Definitely will return when in the area again!!
Very nice camping. It's not a big camping and has all the facilities including a newly build bathroom, shower house. The location is nice because it's only 15 mins away from Cirque de gavarnie and Cirque de troumousse.
Its in a great location, next to the river. It is at least 3k from Gavarnie & there is only road up & everyone uses it so be careful. We arrived on the first day of the summer season - we had booked. It was a bit chaotic & stressful.A lot of the facilities are not in place for example; no chemical toilet waste disposal point, no grey water disposal point. No washing machines, however they do have a sink for hand-washing clothes. It is a 2☆ campsite so can't really expect much. The Aire in Gavarnie do have all these facilities - I would go there in future
Good camp for the motorcyclists too. You can find there a grassy spacious pitches, standard showers and toilettes, bistro and personnel willing to help. Campsite has a stunning view on a surrounding mountains and its located close to the river.
Lovely campsite located by the river with stunning views of the Pyrenees. We were able to pick our pitch - they're all very spacious - right by the river which was very relaxing. The owner was very friendly and gave us tips for hiking routes in the Pyrenees. The reception was open from 8am to 12pm and 6pm to 10pm when we were there in September. There is a bar and you can also order food and bread.Very clean facilities, warm water and washing machines at your disposal. If you want to go hiking, I recommend driving up to Gavarnie town (5 minute drive) and park for free with the sticker given at the campsite. It's by far the best campsite we stayed at on our roadtrip across France. If you're looking for a quiet and friendly campsite with amazing landscapes around, this is the place for you!
