This camping is a real gem! La vie est belle. It was quiet and relaxing. The sanitairbuilding are very clean and up to date. The restaurant was perfect and the wine perfect. We really enjoyed a good glass of wine on the terrace when watching the sunset. Again perfection :-)O and the service good not be beter. We booked for one night and ended up staying 6 nights. That says it all i think. We certainly will be back
Never again! The swimming pool is disgusting, with slimy thick algae on the bottom and sides and was so filthy that I got a throat infection. And for those who wanted to go into the pool, it shut at 6.30pm, when it was still hot and bright. How do you cool off then? There's no AC and when we asked at reception when we arrived, the guy said you cool off 'at the river'. Crossing the river is actually dangerous; I nearly got hit by a 2-person hard plastic kayak in the middle of the fast current. I had to push it away to avoid concussion. And unless you scrub the place when you're leaving, they charge you euro80 as a "cleaning fee". So much for the advertising saying it's "just like a hotel". The food was below average (burgers, etc., limited options for vegetarian.. so much for being eco-friendly, and unless you brought your own food, there were no alternatives, so basically a monopoly), and the lodging, food, wine, everything, was expensive. Two weak oscillating fans for the whole cabin. The location is in the middle of nowhere, so no shops nearby, and it was so unbearably hot. When we left, driving down the mountain, the temperature dropped by 4 degrees. This is not 'glamping', this is a below-par monopoly, and seriously expensive for what it is. The only positive I can say is that I never need go back again.
We have been going for 10 years and couldn’t recommend more highly. An amazing place with fantastic staff. We have tried every accomodation and they are all amazing. Just brilliant and we have booked again next year.
We went camping there with my daughter and we had a great time between the river and the natural swimming pool. It is kids friendly and the staff is really welcoming and helpful. There is shade on most of the campsite.
From the word go this was an absolute shambles....!!!This "Five star / Vineyard camping" is one to certainly AVOID....!!!!When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice lady, however, as it became very clear very quickly had no idea whatsoever what she was doing. She returned with her son (who was apparently the one in the know....?!)He wasn't particularly much more knowledgeable, and what quickly transpired was that a fault on their system had actually created 2 reservations for us - "No problem" apparently, but then cue the next 20 minutes of hanging around whilst this was apparently rectified.....Once checking us in finally started, the strangest of questions began - in particular were the ones wanting us to show our dog's vaccination records (never, ever required before in over 20 years of French camping experience) , the travel documents for him & then my partner being asked "Is he aggressive & Does your dog like to attack people or other dogs" (he is a 12 year old VERY well behaved collie that has limited mobility anyway following spinal surgery....) so no pal, he doesn't....!!!!Once we finally got checked in we were then told we had been given a "better pitch" as the wet weather made some pitches boggy.... We then made our way to the "Camping area"I'm afraid these were basically some untended & unkempt spaces between some tress at the foot of a hill with water streaming down in the very wet weather & where the electric / water supplies had clearly seen better days. Alarm bells were LOUDLY ringing when we saw there was absolutely no other motorhomes or vans anywhere on the site....Our original pitch actually had 2 old fridges dumped on it so we wouldn't have been able to get on it anyway.... As it transpired EVERY single pitch was flooded, any chance of us staying in a 3.5 tonne / 6 metre long unit was beyond any realistic possibility. We made a hasty decision to get out.....FAST...!!!Then began the next farce..... Attempting to get a refund & actually leave....... This became an outright argument & ended in being told that it is just not possible to refund - I suggested perhaps offering us some of their wine / produce to the value of our (non existent) stay could be a solution, again "Not possible". In the end I was told that he would be able to cancel the booking once again & I would receive a refund to original method of payment......You guessed it - We are still waiting & NO refund...!!!!Lesson learned & we had a far more safe, restful night without fear of being bogged in an Aire 15 miles up the road....I'm sure in glorious weather with lower expectations this would be an OK option for a one night stopover in a tent or a smaller unit, but I'm afraid it is nowhere near "5 Star" by comparison to many others we have used & the fancy gimmick of a glorified fish pond advertised as a "Natural swimming pool" & some extortionately over priced wine / charcuterie made on sight does not paper over the cracks here..... KEEP AWAY.....
