Latest reviews for CAMPING DE LA CLAPE
We were really pleased to find this site right in the centre of town. The pitch was OK - bare mud with a hedge around. The main toilet block needs updating. It's OK and kept clean, but the some of the shelves, hooks, toilet roll holders were broken and it all looked very tired. The showers were hot and there was hot water in most of the taps. However, there was virtually direct access to the beach and it is very close to the harbour. We paid about 21 euro per night. The pitches were mostly full - they pick up from all the other closed sites. It great that they have spotted that lots of people want to camp in October. The weather is fantastic.
This is the 3rd we have stayed here, this time we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the showers/toilets, also some of the staff were very unfriendly. The Motorhome pitches were not nice, basically just a patch of mud with ant nests all over. The pool area as usual was very clean and good to use, the site is good location to walk to the beach or marina.
Great stay in the Spiderman cabin, kids loved it. They were delighted with the toys and outdoor bath.Deposit was returned when we checked out.A busy campsite but peaceful at night. All facilities were clean and well maintained.Restaurant on site serves lovely food and cocktails were a little cheaper than surrounding bars. All staff were friendly and helpful. We are British and didn't see any other British people on our stay but managed fine with communication. A lot of staff can speak English. The only negative I would mention is that it is very expensive for late checkout (70 euros for 2 hours).
Very nice campsite, great location. However, they definitely overdid it with loud parties on stage. Almost every day noise until 12 pm. From 6 am cleaning up after the party. I advise against places close to the stage and the pool. You can also expect more from the cleanliness of the toilets.
I really liked the movie-themed cabin, the friendly staff, the small size of the place with everything quite short distance. One star off for some weird rules. You're not allowed to wear swimming shorts in the pool area (cheap polyester speedos are available at the shop), kids Disco starts at 9:30 PM which I found way too late and the loud music doesn't stop before 11 PM. You have to pay for the Wi-Fi which should be free (I hated having to switch my phone's unlimited-data hotspot on for all our devices as it drains the battery). What I disliked the most was the fact that despite the entry code to the gate to the beach, it is chained up for the night. If you want to enjoy the sunrise or sunset on the beach you have to walk around the main park entrance which is just annoying. But if in the area, we'd probably stay here again...
