Latest reviews for CAMPING LE GAREL
It was no nice stay. The lady at the reception was impolite and rolled her eyes at my little french. After not feeling welcome at all, we had to discover that our campsite was all over full with ants, no matter where you put the tent. The sanitary rooms are unisex and in the morning awfully dirty. It was quiet on the camping site, but there is a motorway close by and you hear cars all night.
One of the worst camping sites i've stayed at.Background: Traveller from Latvia. Languages I know - Latvian, English, German.Arrived here around 18.00 local time. Went in the reception to meet a lady to who's answer to the question "Do you speak English" was "Naturlich", meaning "of course". But as it turns out, this is a lie. The woman barely knows any English and can't give an answer to any questions.Asked for a pitch with electrocity for 3 people. Price for it - around 30 euros, suspiciously cheap. Got directed to our spot, and saw that it was covered with ant nests, wasp nests with bumps and holes. After seeing this, i went to ask for a house/bungallow instead. From the outside they weren't pleasent to the eye. But as i asked for the house, the lady proceeds to show me a receipt for 100 euros. For one night. That is the price of a 3 or 4 star hotel.Wanting to leave this place and look for another camping site, I asked if we could have my money back. But the lady just shook her head and said "no no no". So I ended up staying here, having one of the worst nights of sleep due to an infinite amount of mosqitoes. If I could leave a rating lower than one star, I would. Please, for the love of god, don't stay here. Look for a hotel or a different campsite nearby. It will be a better experience than this.
terrible lady at the reception. very mistrustful. had to pay in advance when we didn't have the chance to look at our spot yet. rich camping, mostly second homes for people. the camping is beautiful though. we had a beautiful spot eventually, but it was the most expensive out of all campings we've been to in france. paid around 28 for one night which is almost double the average.
A bit off the beaten track but nice shady campground with pool and free WiFi. Traffic from the road could be heard faintly
Cool
