Latest reviews for CAMPING SANDAYA BLUE BAYOU
Unfortunately there were bugs in our mobile home, which caused sticky webs and black crumbs. Some of the fittings were loose. The mostly shady porch got covered daily in huge bird droppings, so we could not lie on the sun beds. Our car was frequently littered by bird droppings. When we checked the inventory on our arrival, items like a broom, chopping board an a couple of other things were missing. After complaining at the reception, it took three days to get the broom and the chopping board delivered, although one of the reception-staff assured us, that she would send someone around to go through the entire inventory. On the cooker one of the big hobs did not work. Some of the staff however were really nice, trying their best to help. The beach was nice and the food and service in the restaurant which we visited once, was good.
I checked in with my boyfriend and we hab quiet the experience. We used the camping site with our bus.The ground was very muddy, so building the tent and parking the car by itself was already not the most pleasant thing. The mosquitos at sight were so bad that we had to move after a few days; nobody will tell you but when you camp at this place DO NOT use any property in front of the beach! The mosquitos have their eggs there and will rob your nerves. We lost three days because nobody was kind enough to tell us that this area can practically not be used!We later discovered that we were the only ones in the front for a reason. So if you want to have a better trip choose a property away from the beach and rather next to the pool area. After encountering several problems we left early and had the most unprofessional encounter with a so called manager. In my opinion a manager should not raise their voice and be unpolite to their guests. Due to this person (German speaking, dark hair) we will not come again!I should mention that everyone else from the staff was very friendly and welcoming and more than pleasant. However we had to deal with the "manager" for several encounters and were shocked at how rude she was to us for no apparent reason. I wonder if the owners of this camp are aware of her behaviour towards their costumers.
Not new to Sandaya but this site is definitely not one of its best.Good things - very clean facilities , copious hot water , nice to have an adult only pool. staff smile and greet you constantly … and seem to work very hardOk things …well publicised cocktail bar up above pool shut … entertainment was not too noisy and ended at reasonable time , pitches very variable I had paid for a more expensive one and relocated to another cheaper I suspect and much nicer ( no issue as site not at all busy but … ) the mobile homes are absolutely jammed in … I was in a campervan so not an issueAppalling things - The family pool clearly had a serious issue as an area was fenced off with metal crowd control fencing in middle… of the family swimming area … whatever the hazard the ‘ fix ‘ was an enormous hazard as so many catch points on all 4 sides for children in fact I watched a child get her armband caught on it and uncaught her . I did tell lifeguard and say to them life it looked unsafe and would never pass a uk inspector they laughed and agreed ! And the bin area needs to be managed not just abandoned … it had a vermin problem ( I met several large rats ) so get in there regularly and sort overcrowded bins and ensure they are not overfilled and lock when full … what it would be like in summer who knows. Did not eat in restaurant ( would have usually done so ) as it was too quiet with very few eating there … never a good signOut of Sandaya control but the whole area was full of very hungry mossies and midges … I gave up and left early.
A very nice place surrounded by nature,Windy, lots of insects, cold sea ,but two heated pools on site, shop , good entertainment, bar.Recommended to visit nearest oldest french town Beziers
The Blue Bayou is a very good campsite, during my stay I liked it a lot, however I have not just liked the atmosphere (there are many gypsies), I would also recommend taking a lot of mosquito repellents and if you can, (in the summer season) choose the bungalow with air conditioning. To end the month, I would like to add that there are many mosquitoes. The pool and children's club facilities are very good. The beach is very close to the campsite about 400m away and is very clean. I loved my stay in Blue Bayou but if I came back in summer I would choose the bungalow with air c
