Latest reviews for CAMPING DE LA PLAGE
Excellent location, with access to a lovely, grassy river plage.Pitches are v well shaded and decent sized. I disagree with previous reviews about lots of flies.Facilities are clean, BUT PLEASE can the campsite be less stingy on the toilet roll and hot water!! Toilet roll ran out by lunchtime every day.
We absolutely loved this site and the area. Peaceful, well situated, well organized. Really great kids area. Bike hire nearby. Two nights was just not enough.
Arrived just 30 mins early and was abruptly turned away by quite a rude lady. Great location but would not return. Most if not all pitches are under trees which meant the flies were unbearable. And the pigeons happily shower your awning with berry coloured poop which leaves immovable stains. But bigger problem is that all but 2 of the pitches had little grass growth so, when it rains, the pitches turn into mud baths. We left a day early without refund as we'd had enough. A poor site trading on its fab location next to Saint Cirq-Lapopie. My tip is to stay on the plentiful Aires pitches next door, some right on the river bank itself, for just €12 for 24hrs. Better pitches, better views.
Environment 9/10Sanitary 7/10Customer friendliness 2/10Wi-Fi 2/10Environment:Beautiful campsite and its location is also very good. Walking to Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.Sanitary:Clean toilets, the shower was horrible. The temperature is almost dangerously as hot that they suddenly become. If you press the button 1x, the temperature fluctuates enormously, from cold to so hot that you jump out because otherwise you will burn.Customer service:worst so far of the 7 campsites I've been to in the last 6 weeks. In the morning the staff bangs on the camper (I found out later that it was them), after putting on my clothes (took 1 minute at the most) to see who it is or why they were banging on my camper, is there no one to see. Would have been nice if they could have at least explained why they banged the camper. When leaving I had to wait 2.5 hours, because the reception is closed from 12:00 to 15:00. When handing in my gate badge I got another sneer that I should have already left. Which I was not told or lost due to the language barrier. After getting my deposit back with an angry look I could go.Wi-Fi:You pay € 10.50 extra for WiFi, the coverage is very poor (only at the reception WiFi signal) so not worth it at all.
The sanitary facilities are good and look pretty new. We were there in high season, the camping place was full, reservation is recommended. From the place you can go directly to a small beach at the river. At night it is mostly quiet.
