We left early for a different 5-star campsite nearby. Calling it a night-and-day-difference is an understatement! The good:The location is good, you can walk right onto the beach. The store is well stocked, the staff are friendly and helpful. The bad:- We had picked the first pitch (474) next to the exit onto the beach. This was a mistake, as there was constant foot traffic next to our pitch (admittedly our fault, we should have thought of that). In the evenings however, when the main gate was closed by security, we could hear people talk and laugh loudly well into the night.- When we arrived, there was still litter on the pitch from previous tenants. On a 5-star campground I expect the groundskeeping staff to check pitches after people leave and rectify these things.- The dunes directly behind the pitch mean you can't see the sea. What you can feel however is the very strong wind coming from the sea. While there was a fence and other pitches hat vegetation along the fence to mitigate some of the wind, ours was completely open. The ugly:-The sanitary installations were in such a horrid state, that we felt dirtier having taken a shower there. We took one look at the toilets and decided we'd only use our caravan for that. The dishwashing-stations were disgusting, the floor was in a terrible state, we were even in there washing our dishes as the cleaning lady came by. She didn't even so much as take note of the floor being covered in wet sand and whatever food and drink had ended up there.Whoever designed the shower heads deserves a special place in hell: the fixed shower heads and piss-poor water pressure means your forehead is 5-10 cm from the wall wich, after seeing the state of the rest of the sanitary block you don't want to touch. In the men's section there has to be an open sewer drain as the entire place stinks like a pond of raw sewage! In conclusion: I strongly urge management to have a stroll through their campsite and take in the sights and smells with a very critical mindset. I cannot imagine that anyone who runs a (supposedly) 5-star campsite would find this acceptable. Judging by the reviews this must be a recent trend that I would strongly advise be taken very seriously. We were so unhappy, we booked a new campsite for the remainder of our stay in the area and didn't even bother to get our money back, because that would have meant spending even more time there. In short: we wouldn't recommend this campsite to anyone and won't be coming back unless some drastic measures are taken!

Had a great two weeks at Cala Gogo. Lots of positives: 1. Lovely and helpful staff. 2. A great location (10 minutes safe cycling to a beautiful and lively marina /30 minutes family cycle to Argeles). 3. Always hot water in showers/washing-up. 4. Amazing pool area (superb slides). 5. 2 minutes drive to Aqualand. 6. Beautiful beach location. 7. We had a large touring caravan pitch. 8. Great on-site supermarket. 9. Nice bar and good take away. 10. Mix of nationalities . Some areas for improvement (but still a great place): 1. Showers/toilets not quite as clean as could be....and could do with more staff cleaning them. 2. Weeds and dead plants not removed 3. 'beach bar' not on beach properly so can't see the Sea. 4. Pitches near the beach are quite small and not as attractive as other pitches near reception. 5. Entrance is a bit off-putting (but don't let it put you off)). Overall a great stay but just lacking some of the shine of the most impressive sites.

Though the place was really nice, we haven't gotten the id card back, we are still waiting. Do better than me: Remember always to ask it back right away.
