CAMPING FRÉDÉRIC MISTRAL

Arrived 9pm a day earlier than booked and were welcomed in for an extra night. The staff are helpful and friendly. Amenities improve every time I visit, there is now a pizzeria open in the evenings looking forward to trying it. Beautiful area goes without saying.

Positive Aspects:- Excellent location, just a 2-minute walk from the town center.- Good camping pitches, free of stones and other annoyances.Negative Aspects:Having been a guest at this campsite for 7 years, I must admit it has lost its charm due to two main issues:- The owner, who used to be friendly and humorous, has become increasingly grumpy over the years. It's best not to ask him questions and also often makes rude comments about guests (like myself) to (I assume) his mother and grandmother. This is quite disappointing and bringing an uncomfortable feeling, even more as I fondly remember the early years when it was enjoyable to joke and tease each other.- The sanitary conditions have significantly deteriorated. While some blame lies with guests who lack manners, it is evident that the cleaning is not done regularly or properly. Small trashcans in the sanitary areas often contained smelly food throughout most of my stay.

Small friendly site, showers & loos clean plenty of hot water. Pizza restaurant only open on a Thursday as out of summer season. Pool looks great haven't been in yet! Town walk only minutes away.

I have stayed here twice a year for more than 10 years. It's perfect. All the wash rooms are brand new and very clean. The campsite is quite beautiful and in an amazing part of France. They have permanent tents and bungalows. Campers, caravans and tents are welcome. Nightime lighting is subdued and just right. Prices are very reasonable. It's a 2 minute walk into the town where there are bars and restaurants. Arnaud, the owner, and his family are very friendly and helpful and always have ice cold beer in the fridge!!!! (Most important after a hard day's motorcycling.) Breakfast and coffee is available if you would like it. A little spot of heaven in the Alps.

Great campsite very close (5 minutes) from the centre of Castellane. The host was very welcoming, the facilities were very good and would definitely recommend.
