Latest reviews for CAMPING CALME ET NATURE
Take care, you could be in for a surprise. I have mixed feelings about the place. The mobile homes were clean and in okay shape. The friendly Reception man told us to leave a deposit, for what we asked: for when we would break something. No problem, we agreed. We stayed to nights, after we left they took 50 euro from our creditcard, without informing us. We send an email to ask for an explanation, no response. We called them eventually to clear things up. The 50 euros were cleaning costs. They said they would have called us, but didn’t have our phone number (but we gave our phone number during check in???).We should have cleaned the bathrooms, showers and fridge, kitchen, floors etc, before leaving. We have had no problems with this, if we had knew in advance. We only stayed 2 nights and were kajaking during the days, the place was hardly dirty. We used our own sleeping bags. Cleaning the small mobile home for 20 - 30 minutes is really not a big issue. Not a fair way to cash in an extra 50 euros from tourists for a job that’s done in 20 - 30 minutes. I would have wished for transparency at the check with the friendly man, and a respond to my email and/ or a phone call before just withdrawing 50 euros. We had numerous, friendly contact moments with the staff and even cleaning lady, but not a word about the fact that we need to clean or pay.To our friend, who rented the mobile home for himself, next to us, for 2 nights the same happened. He only used one bedroom, didn’t cook, hardly touched the place: 50 euro gone without explanation. Now reading more feedbacks (out of interest) of this place, we are not the first that this happened to. Reading the reactions of the owners to most complaints, they don’t take these constructive feedbacks serious and react unprofessional just blaming it back on their guests.I agree that it’s not easy to run a camping place, dealing with different people, but I think transparency and communi is the way to keep customers happy. Just explaining - talking - in person that we need to clean up or pay, or answer to our email, would have been so easy for them to avoid this one star feedback. It’s all about respect for each other.
Beautiful, simple camping in the midst of nature. Castellane is a bit further away to walk, car or bike easily do-able. Wide spots for minivans or tents. Friendly owners. Toilets and showers are clean, but the toilet building itself (corners, inside of the roof etc.) isn’t clean with spiderwebs and stuff hanging there.
Great little campsite. I would highly recommend this family run business. Mobile homes cabins and Safari tents available as well as plots to set up your own tent or mobile home. Really lovely setting. Well thought out. Breakfast was simple but good. And options to have drinks in their bar and a selection of meals. The family are all very friendly welcoming and amiable. Will definitely go back.
Probably our favourite camp-site after six weeks of camping around France. The location is perfect and the sites down by the creek are relaxing. Helpful friendly staff and a good little bakery for the morning croissant. Stayed two nights but could happily gave stayed longer. Bathrooms were good.
We had a great stay at camping Calme at Nature! The campsite is really beatiful and gives a cozy feeling with trees, some animals and wild flowers growing next to the paths. The camping-owners are really kind, they give you a very welcome feeling! The sanitary facilities are basic but clean and everything works like it should. Also every spot comes with a picknick table and there is a small terrace where you can order some drinks and snacks and where you can pick up your croissants and baguettes in the morning. The campsite is on walking distance from Castellane (about 20 minutes). If you are looking for a peaceful place close to nature that is not too massive than this definitely is your spot! I truly found my inner peace at this little paradise and would definitely come back!
