CAMPING CHANTECLER

This campsite offers the ability to book ahead, unlike its closest rival and is very convenient for the bus into Aix, 5 mins walk to the stop and a 10 min journey (€1.20 pp at the time of our visit). It has a good pool and hot water for showers and washingup. The downside is that it's quite dated with regards to the facilities, showers, wc, chemical disposal etc and the pitches are difficult to get into/out of, the site map provided is confusing and in the 48 hrs we were there several caravanners, including ourselves, had to unhitch and make difficult turn around to locate their spaces. The difficulty is that when you're paying top € per night you hope for better. Previous comments by the newish owners say they are gradually improving the facilities and that would be wonderful as this site certainly needs upgrading and currently offers a poor experience. Final positive is that the staff were helpful. It is popular and full every day so I hope they manage to serve their customers better going forward.

We were unsure of what to expect given recent reviews but we were happily surprised with this site. Staff we met were helpful polite and spoke excellent English, helpful and appreciated when we don’t make effort to learn other languages! The site is lovely and relaxing the pool area is perfect. Showers and toilets super clean. Great mini supermarket, bakery and butchers within 5mins walk. Bus stop also 5 mins away. Thoroughly recommend

Camping not easy accessible, pool advertised but on renovation with no notice.The pitches very dusty and uneven, the water tap was in a bush hidden, all together would not recomand as nor even 2 star capsite, let alone a 4 star, over priced for what they offer.Only good think I asked for money back to leave after half an hour of trying to find a place to stay.

the website is a representation of perhaps 10 years ago. This is gross fraud. Now the campsite is completely run down. Nothing is operational, except the sanitary facilities that are in urgent need of renovation. The price is insanely high. Save yourself a big disappointment.

Totally gone downhill,warm beer,no food in the bar,NO SUNBEDS,HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY CHAIRS THAT DONT RECLINE !!!! shame as pool brill.all staff new, looks like it's been taken over,stayed here 4 times previously, won't be coming back...
