CAMPING LES VAUDOIS

What a wonderful camping for those who seek nature, quietness, and basic (but adequate) facilities. The unpleasant and unprofessional treatment at the reception of nearby camping Courounba (as Les Vaudois does not have a reception of its own) and the "friendly" fellow guests from Paris that occupied the places reserved for us (therefore 1 star subtraction for service due to Courounba, NOT due to Les Vaudois) were quickly forgotten when we finally found a nice place. Great value for money, I do not recognise the negative reviews here. The camping is ideally located directly at the wild Torrent de la Gyronde with nice mountain view, 5 minutes drive down to Argentière-la-Bessée and 15 minutes drive down to Briançon, very convenient for shopping. Further drive up at 10 minutes to the very touristic village Vallouise. The village Les Vigneaux itself has a very good boulanger and a very nice restaurant/pub, both with very generous opening hours. The camping has its own mineral water source "La Ruinette", adequate facilities with warm water (again, I do not recognise the negative reviews here, I have seen (much) less at much higher rated and much more expensive campings), and - thank God - no animation, what's more to wish for?! Not suited for very small kids (when unattended) as the river and its steep banks are dangerous to fall in.

visited this camping at the end of the season, very scenic in a forrested area next to river, in the valley with great views of the mountains. very quiet, 'neighbours' were 30-50 meters away, quiet people and the river drowns out any sound. Wild feel with convenience of sanitary facilities.Sanitary buildings were partly new and functional, but being in the forest the lights of it attract many insects, in the morning there were many dead insects in the showers, and there were days when the place was not cleaned. needs a bit more care, or lights that only come on when there is someone (part of the building had this and there it was clear of insects). Sadly the breadcar did not pass when I was there, probably too little people on the camping for them. but there is boulangerie a coule minutes from the camping.

August 2024. 1 night in a camper van. No one at reception you have to send an SMS to report. Free placement. What can I say...a magical place surrounded by nature lulled by the sound of the water (strong current, swimming impossible). Stunning. Bike rides possible, it doesn't climb too much in the surrounding area. But...but....incomprehensible camping price!? Sanitary and shower "in its own juice" 😜. I thought twice before taking the plunge. If you fear critters of all kinds this will scare you 😲. This deserves a good spray of water everywhere and especially on the ceiling. Hot water though so a good point. 28€ for a night for 2 people with electricity and 🐕. Too expensive for the "services" offered. But hey, those who like the rustic side of camping will be satisfied, that's for sure. Good memories all the same 😜!!!.

If you want the feeling of camping wild, but with the convenience of a toilet and shower, then this is a great place for you. Next to the river in beautiful surroundings, super quiet places and all the space you could wish for. We loved it!
