CAMPING D'ANGERS - LAC DE MAINE

A lovely campsite with friendly and efficient staff. The pitches were a good size with water and electricity points nearby. The toilet/shower blocks were clean and in good condition. It is a fair way from Angers but there is a decent bus service and we also used taxis on the Sunday when no buses were running - the joys of being out of season! If you intend going outside of the main season, the opening hours for bar and food are reduced but that is to be expected.

Not sure why there are poor reviews of this site. We had a fabulous 6 nights here. Great staff, clean facilities and excellent bike hire. What a great city and the cycle paths along the river are amazing. Fresh delicious bread in the mornings at a reasonable price. We don't didn't use the pool area (although it looked good and lots of families enjoying it), swam in the nearby lake instead which was lovey. Would definitely return and recommend.

We had a great time at this site. The site is perfectly located to travel in to the town of Angers. It is a 18 minute cycle through a beautiful park so very safe. The site is clean and well ran.

The camping is nice, the location pretty good and the chalet are decent, however our stay was horrible, this is why:Every night we were woken by super loud music at the lake next to the camping. Sure the staff called the police, but there was no responsibility taken or care for our stay. It’s a problem known to the staff, nevertheless, mentioned nowhere. They just let us pay €1600 for 12 days in a chalet. We left early, tired and broken. Without any discount or taken responsibility what so ever.

Not a bad camping in a - if you ask me - not the most beautiful part of France. Close to the city centre of Angers and very close to a lake. Nothing special, but also not too bad. The camping itself has a very cozy atmosphere, good energy and very nice smiling personel. They are always ready to help.We have stayed in a chalet. Unfortunately they do not clean the chalets good enough, this is an important point to try to improve. Many spiders, webs etc. Not a lot of work to clean them before guests arrive. Wifi is very poor as well, but normally you should be able to disconnect when you are on vacation ;). Maybe this is why they have chosen for a bad wifi-system. The pool is okay, maybe a bit small for the camping as it can be too crowded. Overall I would recommend this camping to my peers, but would not visit again. If the chalet would have been clean, I would certainly have given 4 stars.
