Latest reviews for CAMPING DOMAINE DE LA BRECHE
Stayed with Eurocamp for 12 nights in a comfort cabin. Took a couple of days to settle in but once you do, the campsite is great fun with loads to do for children. The reception staff aren’t particularly helpful or informative, but those in the shop, takeaway, bar and ‘animation’ were great. Shop is cheap and plenty of bread and croissant/chocolate au pain so no need to rush. You do need to rush to get a bed at the pool though. Opens at 10 and queue starts at 0930. Worth it though, as the pool complex is brand new and is excellent. Fully recommend this place, outstanding value for money
We have this week stayed for 3 nights at Domaine de la breche. On arrival we were informed there was a situation with our accommodation (Comfort 3 bedroom) so was upgraded for one night to the Comfort XL which was great, no problem there. The accommodation was lovely and very clean. Once we swapped over to the other accommodation the next day, it was a mess. I would say they had given us the worst accommodation on the site. The garden furniture was filthy. There was no bbq and the shower had mould around the edges. There was no shower mat and the door to the shower was broken. We found out on arrival the restaurant had closed down so the only option was a takeaway. which was burgers and pizza. This wasn't advertised when we booked. On a positive note the staff are friendly and pleasant. This isn't a five star site as they make it out to be.
On July 16, 2024 we were supposed to go to the Domaine de la Breche for 2 weeks with our children (2 & 5 years). After a 9 hour drive we arrived at the campsite and then everything turned out to be wrong. We had booked a premium cottage but it soon turned out that there were other people in the cottage. Back at the reception they said that it was a mistake and that we would get another cottage. That cottage was dirty, small, broken and not at all what we had booked. The campsite turned out to be overbooked. At reception it turned out that several families had a problem. The service from that point on was dramatic. they speak very little English. She didn't communicate and there was no consultation at all and we were given no other options. Suddenly we had to go to another campsite 2.5 hours drive away. We were simply sent away without any consultation, with 2 young children. I could write an entire book about this campsite, but I'll spare you... just don't book this campsite! At that other campsite we got a cottage that wasn’t even close with what we originally booked! Ridiculous!By the way, we booked through travel organization Homair, their service is even worse than that of the campsite. A separate review for Homair will follow.
Unfortunately I would not recommend. Not unless you are a fan of being kept awake by blasting music. Had the misfortune to be reallocated a lodge next to the reception. The lodge itself is nice enough but the site "entertainment" involves pumping out loud music until after 22.30. During last night's "show" it was loud enough to vibrate the whole cabin with screaming and yelling from the "performer" on top of the music. Don't come here if you want any peace or want to be able to get young children to bed. I guess they just don't care about anyone unfortunate enough to have a lodge near reception. Certainly won't be back.
Pool is nice but way too crowded. Mixed gender toilets and showers which my sister and mother felt uncomfortable to use.Dirty, dusty holiday home which we had to clean. Smell of sewage coming from the bathroom which I suspect is a drain problem. Wont be returning.2 workers in a small kitchen cooking for the whole campsite, resulting in 1-2 hour wait times for food
