Latest reviews for CAMPING LE CHAPONNET
We visited here with our touring caravan for a couple of nights in August 2024. In general the site is ok. Tight for a UK 27ft twin axle. Our pitch was pleasant under the trees but we definitely needed the movers and the self levelling system. Very uneven pitch so bring some good levelling blocks with you.The entertainment venue is inside the bar. The entertainment isn’t what you’d expect at a large resort, very basic and only a few nights in the week in August! The night we went it was a solo guitarist playing what can only be described as karaoke tracks.Nice pizza outlet on site, but we didn’t visit the restaurant.Pool is a medium size, nice and warm, and the slides are good fun (although for the UK guys, don’t wear swim shorts as you’ll get turned away). We weren’t that impressed if I’m honest, although we were only there 2 night transitting to the Dordogne. Personally I don’t think there’s enough to do for a couple of weeks there, and the beach is a bus ride away although it’s a free shuttle.Having said that we didn’t have any specific negative experience, we just weren’t that impressed.
Helpful staff and clean accommodation. Easy access to cycle trails to beach and beyond. Tennis and table tennis had plenty of availability. Flumes were great.
Great site with amazing staff. Pool and sides were really good fun and kept really clean. Bar and entertainment was good fun and sites were surprisingly private
This is a classic French campsite with a mixture of cabins and camping/touring pitches. It's clean and well kept and the staff are friendly. The cabin we stayed in was fine, the kitchen was sparsely equipped and the bedrooms were tiny but it was ok. The outside decking/bbq area was very nice. The pool is small for the size of the campsite, it became extremely crowded in the afternoons....it was mid August though.
A very safe clean and friendly campsite. The children have really enjoyed their stay and the freedom to safely ride around on their bikes and visit the pool and slides. The pool is a little on the small side for the size of the campsite. The slides are fantastic and the children have thoroughly enjoyed using them.We did not have enough room on our pitch to put up our swing ball game, which was a little disappointing. The only real complaint was the daily continuous power cuts on the campsite which have been ongoing throughout our holiday. The staff are helpful and friendly.
