Latest reviews for CAMPING LA DUNE DES SABLES
My recent stay at the camping site was a mix of positives and a few minor drawbacks. The highlight was undoubtedly the pristine and modern 3-bedroom cabin we were accommodated in – it was impressively clean and felt brand new. The beachfront location was cool, offering great views. One aspect that truly stood out was the considerate behavior of fellow campers. It was refreshing to find that everyone made an effort to keep noise levels down, creating a peaceful atmosphere. However, our cabin was unfortunately within earshot of the bar that played music until 11pm, which could be a bit bothersome for those looking for early nights. The clean and inviting pool area was a refreshing retreat from the summer heat. I appreciated having a restaurant and a small convenience store on-site, making it convenient to grab essentials or enjoy a meal without having to venture far. While the sports area and playground were great features for kids, the limited operating hours of the kids club (only 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, not open daily) left something to be desired for families seeking more consistent entertainment options.Overall, the camping site offered a memorable stay with stunning views, clean amenities, and a generally respectful atmosphere. It's a destination that delivers a lot of positives, even if there were a few minor areas that could use a touch of improvement.
The worst camping I have ever been. The whole camping place looks very sad and there are only rude and disrespectful people on it. It is very expensive and they tell you that you have electricity everywhere but really you don’t get electricity at all pitches…We arrived late and our pitch was already taken so we had to search for another place to sleep. In the next morning the receptionist didn‘t speak english fluently and got very rude when we didn’t pay everything directly before stating our case. There was no way of a refund or anything. The only good thing about it is that the beach is very near but I don’t think thats something special because there are many camping sites near the atlantic ocean in france any many are more beautiful. The only good thing was that the sanitaries were pretty clean.
We had a real mixed bag of a stay - a great holiday, but mainly due to the people we met up with rather than the site or facilities. The site is very cramped, with no real outdoor space between the chalets other than for parking. Our 10 year old son had his bike stolen from outside the bar/shop area on the second day. There is a very busy cycle path that runs right past the entrance to the site, and a traveller site just down the road. While I am not saying that either of these were the reason for the theft, with these vulnerabilities I was very surprised that the site had no security, CCTV etc. especially to cover these busy areas around the shop/bar/playground. My wife reported the theft to the staff on site and they couldn’t have cared less, she asked if they would give any kind of discount on a rental bike but was turned down flat. The pool is quite nice and was warm, but it closes quite early and was generally very busy. The shop opening times are a complete lottery. I don’t know why they bother having times on the door. The bar was decent, and had some quite good live music etc. but just needed a bit of a spruce-up. For example all 3 pool tables had tears in the cloths. The play area is quite limited, there is a playground and a very small multi sports area, but no fields or anything to have a kick around in.The beach is stunning, but not sandy, and the waves are often powerful - great for surfing, but there was only one day during our week that the kids could play in the sea. This area of France is lovely, with loads to see and do, and the Roan chalets were as ever lovely. However, the site feels a bit tired and very cramped, we won’t be going back.
Tent Camping in own tent; classic French pitch with enough space for medium tent. Large tents would struggle. Clean facilities. Great pool with lots of beds. Perfect access to cycle paths. Beach is close, but swimming needs to be done at adjacent beach due to danger of currents. Relaxed site. People respectful of noise in the evenings. Would recommend for tent camping.
Was here in October. Great pitches location for beach cycle paths and limitless walking excellent. Swimming pool was luxurious. Services very clean and excellent showers.
