CAMPING LE ROUGE GORGE

Just got back from 3 weeks camping in France and this site was found to be great, Very friendly staff, nice location, pool and on site cafe/snack-bar is what helps make a site like this. We will be back to visit again. Price and amenities are also very good. Would like to see variable shower temperature control but that was the only negative point. Stayed during the world cup and the Tour de France so was going to be noisy from time to time. Great play area for kids in view from the pool side so great for parents with young ones.

Very nice site - all facilities were great but best of all the staff were so helpful. We had dogs to get into kennels at Puy de Fuy and they were so helpful. Top marks

Stayed at a mobile home which was clean and tidy. The rooms are small but were perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids.There's an outside space with table and chairs however no barbeque instead they have a few shared barbeques around the place.The pool is a good size and not too crowded. There's also trampolines and a bouncy castle.

Mobile homes are not clean. We had to wash the fridge and the glasses because the was a sticky substance and what looked like black mold.

Excellent facilities and very friendly owner. We camped on a pitch with a trailer tent and we were very happy. There are things that other people have noted as downsides, such as communal bbq area. Yes, this is the case but at least your washing doesn’t smell of next doors burgers and as a whole I think the site benefits from it. The pool is covered and Was great as we could get out of the rain when we had a couple of bad weather days. The child’s play park is excellent and is new. If you are active then this park is great with direct access to the Vendée Velo route and some AMAZING runs and walks. It is close to the GR route along the river and this will please MTB(VTT) riders or gravel hounds alike. Road riding is excellent with some amazing climbs and descents. An amazing area and we will be back next year.We stayed in August and it was reasonable and even more so when you consider we came from Ile De Re.
