Latest reviews for CAMPING LE PLAN D'EAU
We had a lovely few nights here with two pre-teens. They loved the pool, which was never too busy but always full of atmosphere, and the water slide next to it. The pizzas are lovely and the staff friendly and helpful too. Best for us was the proximity to the river Ardeche - the site has its own private access to the river, which was brilliant for nature walks and fossil hunting. Lovely bakeries nearby for morning pastries. The campsite is also on the small side so never feels like mass tourism. We were the only Brits - mainly Dutch, German, Belgian and French guests. Not sure if I’d stay here for a full week - there’s probably enough local attractions but the campsite itself may be wearing thin by then.
Lovely campsite with access to the Ardèche river. If you're looking for relaxation and calm this is the place for you. The pool was clean, our showers were hot and the bird life on the river was captivating. Thank you to the campsite team for an enjoyable visit!
We stayed for 2 weeks in July 2024 with our 2 teenage kids on an XL pitch.Pros:- Large pitch with plenty of shade- Quiet and relaxed overall- Right next to the Ardeche River (although not very accessable to our disappointment, no area to lie down, no real area to swim)- Swimming pool with nice slide- Freshly baked pizza's- Fresh croissants in the morning- Many teenagers 12-17 (mainly Dutch and French)- Ardeche area is beautifulCons:- No private water tap near your pitch (mandatory for 4 star campsite)- Pitch was pretty muddy / not much grass (although we were the first to arrive in our entire pitch area)- Ardeche river not very accessible- The showers were extremely HOT and no way to select your own temperature (with 30+ degrees temps outside this was not nice)- The lighting in restaurant area is bright white and not very nice- The direct access road outside camping is very dangerous (90 KM/H) making it not suitable for running or walking and since its the only way on or off the camp side...- Sanitary area is ok, not 4 stars worth though- Overall this campsite is 3 stars at best- Volleyball net was old and not able to put very high- One pitch for volleyball, football etc.- The price vs quality is not what we expected from a 4 star rated campsite. We stayed in other 3 star campsites in France that were better quality for half the price.
A perfectly ok camp site. Pleasant, calm, swimming pool and a bar.The only issue for me is the price. 39 euros for one night with two small tents and a car. I have been paying between 7 and 20 euros for the rest of the trip in France and Italy. Overpriced!
We were here after the main season, quiet camp site with lots of trees and overgrowth. An awesome little beach directly at the river makes this a great place to relax. The facilities (restrooms, pool, etc) are well kept and there's a quaint little bar and restaurant that serves ok food. Friendly staff. We would definitely come back.
