Latest reviews for DOMAINE DE GIL
We recently enjoyed a stay at a charming camping site in France during the off-season, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. Despite some amenities not being available all the time, the overall experience was fantastic. The surrounding villages and cities were picturesque and welcoming, adding to the charm of our stay. We felt genuinely welcomed by both the staff and the locals, making our visit even more enjoyable. The pool area, while having some strict guidelines which we weren't entirely used to, was very nice and impeccably clean. It was a great spot for our family to relax and have fun. The take-away food options were good, though we found the pizzas a bit on the salty side. But hey, who comes to France for pizza anyway? The bar was a pleasant surprise – great atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks made for enjoyable evenings. The entire campsite was well-maintained, clean, and catered perfectly to families, especially those with young children like ours (under 4 years of age).In summary, our stay was very pleasant and we would definitely return if we're ever in the area again. A perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway!
We had an amazing time here for our first family holiday. Thank you to all the staff for running this camping with such professionalism, friendliness and care. We got the mobile home that we picked and found out that after one night we would prefer a mobile home with airconditioning. This was arranged swiftly after our request and we spend the rest of our time in our new mobile home a bit further down the campsite where we could hear the Ardeche in the background. Everything is well maintained, very clean and with lots of shade both by the campsite, down by the river and by the pool. It’s a little remote but with a toddler who has naps and an early-ish bedtime this was perfect with all the ingredients for a memorable first vacation. Including some mosquito bites 😅Merci beaucoup et a bientot!
I did a last minute booking (a week before arrival). So I expected a small site, but the site we got was very spacious and with lots of shadow. The swimmingpool and sanitaire building are clean. On the campsite a gardner is all day busy with cleaning de sites (leaves). There is the possibility to rent a fridge. Animation is especially for smaller children fun. Older ones can entertain themselves in the canteen. Respect for all the workers especially Pascalle (owner) who works from in the morning until late in the evening.
Nice campsite next river between Vals les Bains and Aubenas.Nice sanitaries with plenty of hot water for showers and washing up. Always spotlessly cleanThe pool area is very good and well maintained and there is a pool bar from which pizzas and frites etc could be orderedDecent sized pitches.Bread and croissants etc could b ordered from reception to be picked up from 8.00am.
During check-in the lady at the reception screamed and yelled at us, because we asked a question about receiving 2 visitors for dinner. Of course, COVID requires additional rules, but we hadn’t done anything wrong but asking about the possibilities… When we tried to find out why she was so angry she called us a bad family, cancelled our one week reservation and told us to go to another campsite. We had read other reviews about the campsite owners before but thought that it would be OK. We obviously were wrong about that 😀The campsite looks really nice and visitors can probably have a really nice stay there, but during our 20 minute stay at the front desk we found out that there are many strict rules, and the treatment at the reception was not acceptable for us.
