Latest reviews for CAMPING AU PRÉ DU LAC
What a beautiful location! We stayed here for just one night on the camping ground. From arrival and throughout our stay the owners and staff were excellent - could not be more helpful and pleasant. Always friendly and smiling. There is also a Bar/Restaurant on site. We enjoyed drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning- all on the shores of the lake. The only thing which could be updated would be the Toilets/Showers but, hey, this is a very adequate 3* Campsite. Even so, they are clean and have plenty of hot water.Everything and Everybody about this campsite far surpasses this very minor thing. All in all a very good stay!
The Campsite itself is located on the shore of a beautiful lake which allows all sorts of watersports and open water swimming. We had a VW campervan and rhe facilities for us were ok. There was a water station, waste station and wash area. That's about all I can say in way of positives. The campsite is packed. The pitches are not big enough and there is less than a metre between tents in some cases (fire risk?) This leads to a very crowded, noisy and overlooked stay. The facilities are not great. The showers and toilets are mixed sex so not much privacy and themselves are dirty and old. The water was at least nice and warm in the showers. No bins to get rid of rubbish. No onsite shop and the restaurant clearly prioritised outside trade (and locals) more than people staying on the site. (And english). We were booked for 7 nights but stayed 4. We decided to turn nomad and wild camp (for free) the remaining nights.Give this site a miss. The staff are rude, despite advertising English speakers... they don't... or won't. The price of the prices are ridiculous and you will not want to spend time overlooked on your pitch. One to miss!
Seems like a cute place next to the lake but might end up with highly unethical service. They placed us on the 'only available' spot and found out after paying (stupid, we know) that it was next to the (upper area) local ownership cottages (best described as a drunkyard gypsy camp) which was under servere construction by their owners. We asked for a better spot but wasn't available. We only booked for two nights and counted 12 free spots at arrival. Of those, 6 where permanent free during our stay (so from arrival until we left. Yes we counted out of frustration which is unrecommended for holiday - true) but here it comes; we heared what we already thought. We spoke to other people that came after us without reservation and had straight away options for a couple of (good) spots! Why? Read next. Our guess is, they dump people that only stay for a couple of nights on otherwise unsellable spots. You arrive late and have no where to go anyway right? So tip: The most upper campsite is really, really bad especially with price in mind and even for free, not worth it at all. It's next to the loud and busy road and cars drive in high gears to maintain speed to take on the hill. Locals working on their wooden cottages. Zero sunlight from morning to night what so ever. Fully placed under old trees (also not a comforting feeling in a tent). So if you pass by for a short stay, skip this one or be ready to make a huge fuzz at the reception to not get dumped at the upper area.Note. We only had a small tent and asked we would settle for little in every way, but with reason in mind ofcourse. Still they lacked ethical insight, cashed in on a couple with few options for an otherwise unsellable spot, in hope to sell the good spots for longer stayovers. In my eyes a malpractice. We could've had a fine spot. Plenty was available from beginning until end. Also, unethical business model
Very nice place, clean and good in general.
Great site just South of Grenoble. A one night stopping off point for us. Wonderful location right next to the lake. Breakfast with sunrise over the mountain overlooking the lake - fabulous. Really lovely helpful owner.
