Latest reviews for CAMPING DU LAC D'AYDAT
Beautiful campsite in the woods, large spaces. The showers are modern, but yellow stained from lack of cleaning. The night we were staying there was a party across the lake so there was music all night, so we couldn't sleep. Not a peaceful experience, I don't recommend it.
Camping with many prefab houses, 95% french peoples.Camp pitches for tents are very different in size and or privacy. We got ' nr 17', wedged between 2 roads and with zero privacy, very far from sanitairy blocks. The new sanitairy block is very clean with modern facilities, one of the best ever seen. Pizza's are very good at the restaurant. On the other hand, the camping is very expensive for just a camping pitch with electricity. No free wifi at the bar or reception (10 min free, rest paying). Every night loud animation, if that's your thing. Also: the adjacent lake is nice, but was inaccessible/prohibitef due to blue algues. Something the camping staff didn't mention in advance (Otherwise we would have annulated) , and they didn't even mention it upon arrival, while the lake is 10m from the camping! Could be dangerous. Blue algues are recurrent there, so inform in advance.Overall, expensive camping with loads of prefab houses, good new sanitairy block, good pizza's.
Lovely wooded site nestled by the side of Lake D'Aydat. We stayed 3 nights. Reception staff were friendly. Roads onsite were bumpy and some of the pitches were on the small side. The pool doesnt have loads of sunlounges and shuts at 6pm which I think is too early for a campsite in the height of summer !!! The food and drink in the restaurant was lovely and I would recommend booking as we didn't and there were only 2 tables free about 630pm. The showers were hot but not modern and press button. On the whole a good site. Especially for exploring the area.
Didn't stay at the camping, just visited to try to see the lake, very difficult if you are not on a campsite, we did find a path that goes round the lake but parking was too difficult to stay.In view of the response from the camping representative I repeat, we did not stay at the camping, only responding to a request by Google, my comments remain the same whoever is responsible for allowing access to the lake.
motorhome :-nice wooded situation with red squirrels running around, new toilet block was very nice. bar was good the bar was great with some good beers, the surrounds were pleasant for cycling and walking. Pizza was best i've had for years
