The people who run the place are very helpful and friendly, there are some great pitches right by the river with EHU BUT: no soap in toilets - how on earth do people wash their hands - I’ll tell you - they don’t! I witnessed a few people just walking out after using the toilets and the worst thing of all, it’s all unisex - showers, toilets sinks etc. I won’t be returning any time soon. You can walk into the town where there are a handful of places to get food - if they’re open! Also the owners do their best to keep the place clean but no soap - sorry I can’t accept that! Let’s hope the chef at the on site cafe has access to soap!!
We did the 11 km canoe-kayak descent of the l'Arroux river, having booked it the day before. We drove to the camping, paid the descent to the friendly and helpful owners, got the paddles, lifejackets and other equipment and were soon sitting in their rental kayaks ready to go. The river was enjoyable, with a steady current and easy, small and fun rapids now and then. When we arrived at the end and phoned, they picked us up in 10-15 minutes. We were very happy with how things were organised, great service. No need to wait a long time to get started or to get picked up.
Large pitches and friendly personnel. Wi-Fi coverage is not too great, but the mobile coverage is fine. No paper at the toilets - bring your own!
Nice campsite just in between the Morvan and the Burgundy wine area. Situated along one larger and one smaller river. Unfortunately the water level in July was rather low, so nice for the dog but not for swimming and canoeing. Spacey pitches with plenty of shade. Toilets and showers are basic but tidy and clean.
Great camping. Lot of space. However, staff is a little bit grumpy. We were with a group of 3 people around 25 years old. Almost every night we were blamed upon because we were too loud at 23:00, but in the mean time children were playing and making noise on the playground untill 22:00. In summary; on the campsite there is definitely a vibe of hate on youth while it's really no problem for a family and their children to have a nice holiday. Still; a lot of space, but few opportunities and few hospitality towards youth. Very unfortunate!
