Latest reviews for CASTEL PARC DE FIERBOIS
Great campsite let down by late-night noise from the stage and bar. Bands/entertainers allowed to continue until 11pm. (We had asked to move pitch on arrival, after being warned by other campers of the noise, but were told by reception that this was not possible.) On one occasion we were kept awake until 230am by singing and amplified music from the bar area - not acceptable for a family campsite. Otherwise, the swimming lake and indoor pool were great, and the outdoor pool popular. Decent on-site supermarket. Nice surrounding area, lovely countryside for cycle rides and excellent showers. The on-site restaurant was ok but could have been better. Much brasher than previously visited Les Castels sites (other than Les Ormes, of which Fierbois is like a smaller version).
Nice place, everything was great. Only downside would be the swimming Pool which is on the small side and many People 'reserve' the sunbeds at the earliest moment but only show up in the afternoon. If they could fix/combat that, it would be 5 stars
We pitched our tent overnight on a long journey back from the south. The site is a tale of two halves. The forest area of the campsite is attractive, but the main pitches are packed in closer to the amenities. Whilst spacious, we found these pitches tatty and uncared for. The pool area was also tired and unclean. Toilet facilities were relatively new and were a plus point. It is a bustling, family site with loud music played well into the night. This was not the impression we got from the website information when booking, so it was a disappointment to us as we needed a good night's sleep and didn't get it. We've had great stays at other Castels sites (notably Le Mans), but we won't be returning here. Unless you're a holidaying with a young family and like noise and bustle, this probably isn't for you.
We stayed in this parc in July 2024.It does have a 5 star rating, and if I compare it with somewhere like Union Lido in Italy, where we have stayed a few times, it does not compare. HOWEVER, this is a different experience and a different type of holiday. I can see why it dosn't meet some peoples 5 star luxury expectations, and I personally would place it at a 4 star, however quibbling over 4 or 5 stars shouldn't really matter. We had a fantastic stay at Parc de Fierbois. We were a party of 13, and had 3 mobile homes with Eurocamp. They were all perfect, spotlessly clean, well maintained and equipped with everything we needed. The main pool complex was very well maintained and clean. The surface surrounding the pool looked to be brand new this year, and was non slip. Our party used this pool every day. There is another pool that I didn't use...our teenagers said it was like a warm bath. The restaurant onsite was ok, and the kids loved the pizza van. There was family friendly entertainment on every evening. We used this campsite as a base to explore the Loire area. Day trips to Tours, Amboise, Zoo de Beauval (don't miss this), Chateau Chenonceau, and a day cycling along the Loire. We brought our own bikes with us, but you could hire them on site (I didn't check out the prices of these)Theres a lake where we used our own paddleboards. It also has some inflatables for kids to jump of. One of our party has a disability and they could not access the lake area as it is down a steep set of steps or a steep hill, and they use a mobility scooter. The 'warm bath' pool is also not accessible for wheelchair users.Would we return - yes, if we were exploring the Loire, with a car, then yes, we would definitely stay again. It worked well as a relaxing base for this holiday.
We had such a lovely time at Parc de Fierbois that I wanted to make sure I left a review. The parc itself is lovely - well maintained despite how difficult it must be with the awful weather there’s been. The whole place is very clean including all public areas. We stayed with Eurocamp on the park and our home was lovely and very well equipped. The indoor pool is lovely, like a bath 😂, which meant that we could go swimming even when it was raining and cold. The outdoor pool is brilliant and would be lovely in the sunshine! The staff were all brilliant and so friendly, our children loved the entertainment at the weekend. We definitely recommend hiring a car when staying here as the only downside is the limited food options on site but with a car we were able to head to the supermarket and cook or explore the area.Thank you again for a lovely stay! We’ve made some lovely family memories here.
