Latest reviews for CAMPING DE CONTREXÉVILLE
What to say, it is a campsite and it works for a 1night stopover.Sanitair is clean, but the showers have fixed temperature (too hot for our kids) and no place to hang or put your stuff to prevent it from getting wet.The places are nice and green, but there are big lights all over the campsite. Not a problem if you stay in a caravan, but way too bright in a tent during the night. Also the campsite is located next to a busy road. Like it is 2meters away, so not quiet during the night.no swimming pool or kids stuffed except for a trampoline.
Large camping, they take online reservation, speak English well, you can order bread and croissants for the next morning. With one small tent I got a really big Grassy space assigned, so no worries with space. Facilities were kept clean, restaurant was there. Short walk to get into town.
Warning. The campsite is simply located in the worst place for a camping: the tent pitches are literally 5 meters (!) separated from the main road. Cars pass by from 5am till midnight, so do not expect to sleep much!(Only reserved caravan pitches are 20 meters or a bit more away; you can check on google maps sattelite view).Maybe you can have a better experience in a mobile home, but I am rating it for the camping pitches.Advertising it to be in the "calme and nature" is just plain hilarious (in the wrong way). The camping facilities are adequate and clean.
The camping is in a quiet location at 1.5km from the shopping area. The mobile home was clean and comfortable. We had the luck to be there in October, so we had very few issues with the bugs or mosquitoes, but there would have been a lot more in summer! It would have been best if there was a mosquito net at the door. And we weren't aware that the linen and towels were to be paid, so that's a downside too if you don't have your own.
This was a great campsite for travelling through with large level pitches at a reasonable price. Reception was open until late and the receptionist lady was very friendly.Toilet block was fine but we only found out they had heating the next morning. Also, washing up is outside which was no good when it is cold outside!
