Latest reviews for CAMPING LES GROSSES PIERRES
We had a great week at this camping site. There was loads for the kids to do, pool was great a little cold when sun is in, but soon get used to it once in, the kids loved the slides, entertainment was excellent. Staff were friendly, and everyone we spoke to quickly switched to English when realising my french wasn't strong. Mobile homes are packed tightly together, however they are spacious inside, and there is alot of space for the children in the play areas, there are 3 play areas, and two are huge, and with bouncy castles. Our decking area could have benefitted from some maintenance, or a good clean, but otherwise accommodation was perfect for us. The island is beautiful, lovely beaches and loads of space. We hope to be back in the future!!
Very nice camping with good facilities and quiet by night. Friendly staff as well.
Clean and well maintained though the 'chalets' are packed tight. Off season visit so it wasn't too crowded and the pool area was excellent with a water slide and various pools to suit all ages. We were on a short 2 day break and overall the site was decent but there were a couple of things that detracted from the experience.Arrived just after 16:00 after a long journey, hot and hungry and there was nowhere to buy food open and the shop was shut. The mobile home we were in was clean and modern but completely unready for visitors. The inside was full of tables and chairs for the deck outside and the table completely covered with crockery and kitchen items. Couldn't face sorting it all out after a long journey so we left it all in situ as we were using it as just a place to sleep in anyway. Couldn't even use the toilet as there was no toilet paper (and no shop to buy any).On the Wednesday after a long day out we decided to spend a relaxing evening on the site and have a meal by the pool and bar. Except the restaurant doesn't open in a Wednesday. These were minor niggles really. Overall the place was very pleasant.
Camping as if. Nice pool, rubbish for a tent!!! Left after 3 days even tho we booked for a week!No tap for water filling other than the washing tap, no soap to wash hands in toilets, only tent on the whole campsite, made us feel unwelcome and second class visitors, 900 metres to the beach is very optimistic.Didn’t feel secure,Overall a rubbish few days, the island itself is simply boring too! Very expensive for what it is, luxury camping it is not!
Loud music at the swimming pool makes the swimming pool unbearable. If you want to damage the ear drums of your kids this is the place to be. On a Wednesday, noisy music throughout the camp until 12 PM!
