Worst 5 star campsite I've been to in france. Showers are 2 star, WIFI doesn't work and when you try get security warnings. Electricity cut out overnight. Noise after 11pm. Chose this campsite because they had Adults only in the water Spa every morning. However they allowed children in, screaming and jumping over the walls, obstructing the swimmers. When we complained, they said because the outdoor pool was closed they were allowed in the pool section only. We explained they were running everywhere, they refused to do anything and said it was up to the parents to control them. So we didn't use it again. Feel robbed paying for luxury we didn't get. Very disappointed and do not recommend 😡
Arrived in our motorhome out of season as the pictures on the website looked great and there was a heated indoor pool. However, from arriving we were disappointed with the apparent disregard for paying guests out of season. Facilities for showering and using the loos were limited and not in good working order. There were no lights after dark and no facilities for washing dirty dishes. The only reason for two stars is the pool was warm and it didn’t cost extra to use. At least the showers were nice in the pool area. The pool area in the morning is reserved for adults only to use the hydrotherapy jets which was good although be careful as the surfaces of the pool are like sandpaper for some reason. In the afternoon children can use the pool when the jets are off but due to the surfaces our little one scaped the skin off the top of her foot so we decided all in all we’d move on to a better campsite. If open, be open properly!
Third visit to this site and always out of the season (October) when it is very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. There are a lot of chalets so must be very different in high season.Bilingual staff in reception. Indoor swimming pool/spa open to residents at no charge. Bike available to hire.Access to the superb beaches is a short walk via the dunes at the back of Gros Joncs.Unfortunately a lot of bar and restaurants close around 20th of September on the island including Gros Joncs site although the shop is open, not Wednesday afternoon though. Gros Joncs site is open for eleven months of the year.A lot of side roads on the island are rather bumpy! Cycling is superb with over 100 miles of cycleways.
Just spent three weeks here in September 2017. First the good points, the indoor pool, outdoor pool and Spa were all excellent. Good changing rooms and clean. The pitches though for motorhomes are not hardstanding and getting stuck was a real possibility though we managed to avoid with our 4000kg van. Our pitch had its power point on the other side of the road meaning that all vehicles had to drive over our cable, a serious safety issue. The toilets and showers were certainly not 5 star though adequate for use. Our other main issue was the low hanging trees throughout the site which caused a nuisance for us as they constantly banged against the roof of our van for the whole three weeks, we tried to move pitches which didn't really help. The resturant onsite had a limited menu but the food was cooked fresh and was tasty, albeit a tad pricey. The local shop was predictably also expensive. No spoken English on site which didn't help us tourists sort out issues. The car rental advertised on their website was priced completely differently when we asked about hire at reception so chose not to try this. All in all an average site, barrier gate still broken, security is minimal, a tired site overall that requires sigficant investment to claim it's so called five star status. We won't be returning.
If you want to pay for 5* and get 2* then welcome to ...."Camping Les Gros Joncs"!, Dont let the pictures fool you, this is a misrable little place lacking in atmosphere and charisma. The spa pool maybe its best feature but the kids cant use it anyway !, thats right they have to sit outside whilst the adults play. ! Bon Vacances ?... NON !
