Latest reviews for CAMPING DE MONTOLIEU
Brought our campervan with the intention of cycling and/or walking. Not disappointed. Campsite is great - well laid out and each emplacement is sheltered from the next, facilities are clean and well maintained, hosts are extremely welcoming and location was perfect. We cycled down to the Canal du Midi and along to Carcassonne, and then did a couple of local walks - there is an app which guides everything. Montolieu stole our hearts though what a lovely village - pool was great but I came away with far to many books! Highly recommend
Nice overnight stopover. Wine tasting was a bonus. Snack Bar - Burgers etc excellent. Bread etc delivered to your pitch in the morning. The owners so helpfull and friendly. Will definitely use again when enroute to Spain.
Great little campsite within easy reach of Carcassone. Good sized individual pitches which are well maintained.Pauline and Greg are exceptionally friendly and efficient...Highly recommended
Excellent campsite. Small but packs a punch!Pauline and Greg offer wonderful service. Lovely little bar and cafe. Great location being a short walk to Montolieu (the book village).
Lovely campsite, very neat, generous and private pitches with a well lit path at night. Sanitary block was basic but clean. Noise from the nearby road didn’t disturb our sleep.Pauline at reception was lovely and spoke excellent English. Best bread service yet, where it is delivered straight to your pitch in the morning, lovely touch. However, a couple of service stars were lost in my eyes during check out and I left with a sour taste in my mouth, after an otherwise lovely stay. After spending the morning packing up and caring for my 6 month old baby, we were finally ready to leave. I went to quickly use the toilet before our long drive to Bordeaux, only to find the toilet block closed for cleaning. There was no warning of this in the check-in leaflet. I was told by Pauline that they should be done in 5mins, so I patiently waited while my partner and baby waited in the campervan by the gate. After 5mins I knocked on the door and asked the male cleaner if I could use the toilet quickly, as we were about to leave the campsite. He rudely told me that the sanitary block was closed for an hour cleaning and I can return when he is done. I explained again that we were about to leave so I can’t wait any longer, he rudely replied that he only has two hands so cleaning takes as long as it takes…and then proceeded to turn his back to me. With that I left to find a service station on route. Very disappointing. I’ve stayed at other campsites where the opposite sex toilets become unisex during cleaning to ensure everyone is catered for, this might be something to consider.
