Latest reviews for ÉCO-CAMPING LA PORTE D'AUTAN
We had such an amazing time at this spacious and natural campsite. We chose the large Pitch 39 which was tucked away amongst trees and leaves but still had a wonderful view of the beautiful valley and mountains beyond. We love to slow down and connect with nature on holiday, so this was perfect for us. There was a lovely pool, which was meticulously cleaned daily and two play areas for the kids to relax in. They loved riding around on their bikes and stopping to say hello to the ponies! We were sad to leave, having been so immersed in the natural surroundings, open skies and fresh mountain air.
The place is nice, that's for sure but the landlady really isn't! Unless you pay big money, maybe? Or maybe it depends on whether she likes you or not... either way, what a poor and cold welcoming, not a smile, not a nice word, a shame for an ecological campsite... ☹️There really are nicer places to stay at in South of France!Oh, and by the way, sanitaries are closed in the early morning, so if you plan on going hiking, organise yourself around their opening time (late 8) and they are not as clean as you'd expect for a 3 stars camping, but maybe that's just me, because I used to own a camp-site!
Our first time to visit here and we will definitely be returning for a longer stay. A beautiful peaceful setting and we really appreciated the attention to running things in an environmentally friendly way. Loved the location away from busy Carcassone and exploring the surrounding little villages! Thank you Stephanie and Jean-Louis!
Nice camping, very calm and no noise. The sanitary is fine, although it lacks toilet seats, which is pretty strange. Also, the shower in the small sanitary building runs max 5 seconds after pressing the button. The sanitary is clean though so no problems there. The swimming pool is behind on some maintenance but after two years of Covid, and probably low income, who cares. It did the job and was nice and cool. The campingspots are medium in size and have adequate heat shelter / shadow spots. Be aware of the cat at the reception :)
Wow what a gem of a place we stumbled across! We spent 4 wonderful days here as we toured around France and was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived the owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The campsite is a nice size with good size plots and very clean facilities. Our children had so much fun playing on the trampoline and loved the pool and so did we. All in all we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning again for another stay. Thank you Stéphanie & John-Louis. Have a great summer and look forward to seeing you next year!!!
