Latest reviews for CAMPING PEGOMAS
Five years ago we camped around France for 3 months, and this was our favourite campsite. We have just come back to it, doing two weeks in their beautiful family-run site and it’s just as we remembered. It’s not the flashiest, but is so clean, with beautiful bamboo lined pitches and plentiful facilities. It’s less than 10 min walk into the town, but has regular food trucks for your dinner too.The showers are so hot (and strong), shout out to the ‘secret’ block at the far corner of the campsite. We had an 11 month baby, they provided free high chairs, the pool has a baby/toddler area and all shower blocks have nursery units with baths in. And there’s the playground. We loved it, there’s a reason that so many people return here year after year.
A nicely laid out site, facilities OK, but , poor service from reception and on site staff. The gentlemen at check in seemed liked he wanted to be elsewhere , told us the bar would shut at 7pm and no food available (despite the guy behind the bar telling us food was available). When I questioned this, the receptionist told me he was the boss , not the barman ! The staff reluctantly kept the bar open until after the England football match on TV , but would not stay open for the Holland match despite several Dutch visitors asking. The indoor bar was a mess, boxes and furniture everywhere , not sure we would have wanted to eat there, we did however have a great meal at Mesiba ,the restaurant opposite the site.
It's truly unbelievable to reserve what you think is a camping spot, only to arrive after hours of driving with two small kids and receive a cold response from the reception stating, "We are full." The notion that they had space when I called and suddenly don't upon arrival is simply mismanagement. It's incredibly frustrating to find yourself in such a situation, scrambling to find another campsite in the evening with two young children. Unbelievable and bad service!
Since our last annual visit the pool area has been renewed and improved. Still a great site close to the beautiful town of St. Remy de Provence. Nice little bar, all amenities top and very clean sanitary blocks.
Lovely clean site. Large pitches with shade if required. All services spotless. Nice pool and bar area. Stayed five nights and three of those food available. Really recommend. The town is beautiful, really enjoyed our stay.
