Latest reviews for HOLIDAY GREEN CAMPING & RESORT
It was a lovely stay and it was out of season so not that many children around so it was very relaxing. As it was coming to the end of season the shop didn't stock many things and was expensive but it was nice to be able to pick up a baguette every day. The staff were amazing and helped me find a doctor when I had an ear problem. The only thing that was an issue is that I have limited French and whilst most people humoured my efforts, it did make some of the evening activities a challenge, such as quiz nights etc which were all in French. So I gave up on those. But I could get involved in daytime activities such as sports, because that language is pretty universal! All in all, though it was a great stay and it was so nice for it not to be so full and loud with screaming children. If I had kids though there seems to be a lot going on to keep them entertained. As I was alone, passing through on a bigger road trip, having it out of season with mostly adults was absolutely perfect for me!
Thanks to everyone at Holiday Green for an amazing stay, I first visited the park 35 years ago as a kid and brought my family back this year. Everything from the booking to the place we stayed right through to the activities and pool was first class. The kids are already asking to come back again and we would definitely recommend to our friends. Have a great rest of the season and we look forward to the 2024 bookings being open! :0)
Overall we had a good stay however would not choose to return. The pool area and slides were great, we also enjoyed the tennis and basketball courts and the weather was superb. We booked through Eurocamp and was really disappointed with our small, shabby cabin which needed a good clean and the shower leaked into the main bedroom. The cabin was well located though. All the above said we found the pool rules and dress code draconian. Who on earth thinks it a good idea for all men/boys to have to wear trunks/tight shorts? And also why close for an hour at lunchtime? I would love the shorts rule explained to me with logic. Most disappointing though was how incredibly rude one of the pool attendants was (tall, slim, blonde hair, always hiding behind sunglasses with a permanent scowl) I genuinely think she singled out our party and took joy is telling off our children whilst ignoring any other kids doing the same thing. A really unpleasant woman. The girl who works in the shop on the other hand was lovely, always smiling and very polite, again though the shop kept very strange hours and for a place out in the countryside to close at 8pm is rediculous. Bar drinks were also very expensive and the lager was served tepid. Its not a bad place, just not great and all feels a little tired. I have also seen that the owner is very selective in his responses to reviews. Claims the trunks are for hygiene but cant explain why, and is totally unapologetic when it comes to reasonable complaints which they choose to ignore.
Stayed for a week in July, park was excellent.and pool.is.fab, however iy does require a fair bit of walking if that is difficult for you. Most of the kids activities in French (I know it is France) meant that my little one could not join in. Main gripe was vile attitude of Camille the choreographer who's dismissive attitude towards children of whom she is supposed to be entertaining was just disgraceful, the other entertainers were embarrassed to be in the same room as her she was so horrible to the children. Please let this be an official complaint about Camille. Thanks.
The good:Great pool and kids slidesGreat sporting areasNice vibe and good fun in generalNice enough cabins, good ACFriendly staffNice kids clubs and activitiesThe bad:The foodThe gym (oh boy)The reason for 1 star? The nonsensical, revenue-driving rules around wearing only particular types of bathers (that they happen to sell). Only place I’ve ever been to (globally, and in France), with this type of rule. Idiotic.
