Latest reviews for CAMPING DE SAINT-AYGULF PLAGE
I don't know where the 4 stars come from. No soap, no toilet paper. The sanitary equipment seems to be decades old. Pitches with little shade next to each other. The pool was not that impressive and was even closed because it was supposed to start raining in a few hours. It's far too expensive for what you get. We came from a campsite in the Luberon where you get a lot more for less money.
We stayed with my family and grandchildren at the Loft Cabin. Although the cabin was very nice the outdoor deck was not child friendly so our younger grandchildren could fall onto the grass since there was no rail. We did not like the fact that we had to make our own beds and we did not like the procedure of deep cleaning of the chalet before leaving. We would have preferred a more reasonable price for cleaning like Euro 60 and not 150!. I also did not like the routine of having all the crockery and utensils on the table for us to check and put away - that we feel is silly as there were some chipped cups included so what benefit was to have seen them on the table. A written itinerary would have been much better.
We stayed for a few days on the campsite. The toilets were absolutely disgusting during the whole stay. The toilets and showers were filled with 20 mosquitos per stall which results in a lot of mosquito bites. The washing sinks were gross with people leaving food to rot in it. The cleaning was inadequate, dead fish leftovers were left in the sink for at least 2 days. This attracted a lot of ants and other insects. The food at the restaurant was okay, the service was not friendly. We didn't feel welcome at all. There were some employees who genuinely tried to help you, which was nice. The shop and bakery at the camping were a nice addition, good opening hours 7-20. Friendly employees. The location is very good, campsite at the beach and close to little shops and restaurants. If you like to have some cell reception, I would not recommend this location. During our whole stay we did not have any internet connection and very bad cell reception which results in us not being to call or look things up.A big downside: if you value your sleep, maybe reconsider. The music is pretty loud and continues to be loud till 02:00.Conclusion: we were very glad to leave and go to another (read better) campsite.
The gentleman working at security in the evenings was a pleasure to deal with. The camping places were a good size and having normal plug socks that you get at home was brilliant. The location of this campsite was perfect.
Low season, I know. But there was basically nothing to do, and the beach was tiny and in dire need of a cleanup. I paid for the wifi for 2 days, but it stopped working after 2 hours. I went to the reception and all they could tell me was: “it usually works”. I then contacted Support, and after mentioning the fact that I’d have reviewed the whole thing, they fixed it in no time. Huge campsite, no idea what it looks like in the summer, but I would not bother going back.
