Latest reviews for CAMPING DOMAINE DU COLLET
Avoid don’t waste your time or money here. Plenty of other much nicer campsites around. Can’t understand how this is a 4 star campsite been to much nicer 2 stars. Highly recommend La Boutinardiere 10 mins awayWe were informed on check in that there would be 200 people which we presumed would be campers, we thought great there would be a good atmosphere. What we were not told was the 200 people were college students and there was a party with loud banging music playing until 3am hosted by the campsite. Impossible to sleep. Discussed with reception the next morning who couldn’t care less. English very poor very little understanding even though advertised as English speaking. The images online of the campsite are nothing like what it actually is as outlined in the previous reviews. Poor location nothing around. Sea is there but no beach.
IF I COULD GIVE 0 I would!!! Party, loud music until 3AM. NO CURFEW, NO SLEEP. NO COMPENSATION. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Looks nothing like it did on website. Complained about noise the next morning and told that there was no compensation as they told us 200 people were coming. Also - they can’t speak English even though it is advertised on their sign as you drive in “English speaking”. It is a lie.
Stayed here in our camping car, the beach is not suitable to swim in as it’s a mud flap beach. Our pitch was a good size. Pool area acceptable but not of a high standard. Noisy neighbours make the staying unrestful. We stopped for 1 night
The pitch was of an excellent size with good tree covering. The location is nice for walking, however the beach is muddy (and not sandy). The visitors are mainly French, with some British, Germans and Dutch mixed in. Because I needed a spot in mid-August I paid in advance. We were unlucky with some other guests. Toilet and shower area's were cleaned frequently but some 'guests' broke toilets, sinks and placed their excretions not in but next to the toilets. This could be fixed quicker. Luckily there is more than one shower house. There are some local teenagers not helping in the atmosphere at the swimming pool. This should be managed better. We decided to leave a day earlier because of the weather forecast. Reimbursement was not possible. We had fun in the area with a very nice restaurant in les moutiers en retz. A nice canoe tour we picked up from tourist information and we did some fishing in the harbour. It is a good area to relax and enjoy nature
Good sized pitches and we were able to choose our location. Lots of fun to be had at the swimming pool and crazy golf plus a good playground. The toilets and showers were always clean. The beach outside the campsite looks amazing but be aware there is only a little sand. At low tide it is mainly mud/sand
