Latest reviews for CAMPING DU LAC DES VARENNES
Lovely camp site beside the lake. Walk to village in 15 minutes and close to one of the cycling routes. A bar offering family entertainment and food and drinks. Clean toilet and shower facilities. A lovely walk around the fishing lake in the public water park, you are given arm band to access this area. Campsite has its own small beach for lake swimming.
We,an elderly couple, have just spent a week on this lakeside site with two dogs.Liked- the spacious pitch, friendly service, snack bar / bar, facilités for children, and safe swimming beach. Also loved the outdoor leisure centre next door where we rented a pédalo and paddle board very reasonably.N.B Bar and leisure centre not open out of season.Disliked - very little. Would like more bins around as rubbish skips are a long way from the pitches, and would like a small area of beach accessible to dogs.Would recommend this site, for all ages.
Greatly positioned campsite by the lake. Lots of activities for kids. The water in the showers was way too hot and there was no soap in the hand basins or toilet paper (seems to be a thing on French campsites). The pitches are large and flat. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
A hidden little gem deep in the Loire valley and an ideal base for visiting the many Chateaux and attractions in the area. Pitches were spacious and flat. Views were beautiful with a lakeside beach and nearby boating lake. You could use all the facilities for free including lake and wifi. Wash and toilet facilities were clean and accessible but dated and in need of a refurb. Check was quick friendly and helpful. There was also a book swap and bar on site but this was a little pricey. Overall had a great stay and would recommend.
Fabulous location and perfect for our relaxing 3 night stay, we had the perfect pitch, nice size and overlooking the lake beach. Very friendly and helpful people at reception whom I guess are the owners. Lovely for swimming, fishing and sunbathing plus access to the lake on the nextdoor site means water sports are available too, my teenagers went canoeing and loved it. Food at the bar was basic but nice enough, and very small shop for essentials is handy but best to stock up beforehand. Showers block was clean and always stocked with paper.Family enjoyed it here very much, think we needed an extra day to pack in some more activities though. Would definitely stay again.
