Latest reviews for CAMPING RIVES D'ARC
We arrived to a small, three bedroom static caravan next to a car park. The accommodation is small for 4 people. We were provided with only four towels for six beds. The towels were ripped and threadbare. Our beds were not made. bed linen was just left in the room and we were left to make our own beds. The double bed was broken. When we went to make our bed, we discovered that the bedlinen had been pressed but was very dirty, with stains and smelt awful. we went back to reception, but it was now closed, so we had to sleep in a dirty bed, sleeping on our ripped towels. Just a reminder that this accommodation cost us over €3500 for a week. Room 435 which is supposedly the highest rated and most expensive accommodation on the site. The resort then sent a welcome email ‘to’ the whole resort, with everyone’s email visible. I expect my personal details to be better managed than this.UPDATED: Overall, the location is superb in an amazing part of the world. The site is well managed, pools are good. River frontage great, Canoe / BBQ hire is great. Shop has everything you need. Tidy & Clean. The staff were great - all of them. The challenge is the change over. The rooms are kept clean, but the bed linen was really bad. We ended up taking all the sheets and laundering them ourselves as the resort provided a second set which were only partially better. I also got the distant impression they knew this was an issue. The sheets had sweat marks, smelt of humans, and some had mould and holes. This is clearly a contract service that needs to be improved. Otherwise, the rooms are small - almost cramped, limited storage, very hot as the aircon is not very strong (and is only in the lounge), the TV doesnt pick up many channels (so we missed most of the olympics), the wifi is weak or doesnt work at all, especially after 3pm for one reason. Kitchen is small, but ok if you kept the meals simple. Outdoor furniture wasn't great (metal & uncomfortable). I would describe the accommodation as functional. We will return to the area without a doubt, but would stay on a different site.
We had a lovely stay at our cabane at Rives d’Arc.Warm welcome and very dogfriendly. We did get a welcome package with local products for us and also a package for our dog (1ball, 2sticks and poopy bags xD)We even had breakfast for our first morning wich was very welcome after a long drive and arrivel later in the evening.Very hygienic with hand sanitizer at the waste disposal point. There are plenty of activities that can be done. A beautiful area with many nice small villages near camping.
Tranquil Oasis in Ardèche: A Pet-Friendly RetreatNestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of Ardèche, our camping experience was nothing short of remarkable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. The welcome we received was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Not only did they provide us with all the necessary information about the campground and surrounding attractions, but they also surprised us with a thoughtful welcome pack for our furry companion, complete with treats, toys!Entering our accommodation, we were immediately struck by the tranquility of the surroundings. With plenty of trees and shrubs separating each home, privacy was never an issue. The well-maintained grounds added to the charm, creating an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation. One of the highlights of our stay was discovering a welcome bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. It was a delightful touch that added an extra layer of indulgence to our experience. Sipping on that fine Ardèche wine as we watched the sunset over the mountains became a cherished memory. The staff at the reception were not only friendly but also incredibly well-trained. They were always available to assist with any queries or requests, ensuring that we felt welcomed and valued throughout our stay. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly enhanced our overall experience. In conclusion, our camping experience in Ardèche exceeded all expectations. From the warm welcome to the impeccable service and thoughtful gestures, every aspect of our stay was exceptional. We left feeling rejuvenated, with memories that will last a lifetime. We can't wait to return to this tranquil oasis in the heart of Ardèche.
This was our first time at this campsite and the first time camping at the top of the river as we normally go to Sauze. It's a big campsite with a mix of small chalets and pitches we were on the latter. There are two nice swimming pools to use with a good number of sunbeds (although we were here late in the season). The campsite is also on the river too so plenty of choices for swimming and sunbathing should you wish. There were two sanitary places open and both seemed quite new and were kept very clean, in fact we saw them being cleaned a lot! The showers were the sort that you have to push for water and they are just all one temperature but they were warm enough and roomy although they lacked hooks for your clothes. There is a shop on site for groceries and bakery items as well as a restaurant however we didn't use this during our stay. If you wanted to canoe there is a hire shop right next door and it's a perfect location for cycling. Our pitch was well shaded and there were small hedges separating each pitch, there were some riverside pitches but they were all being used when we arrived. The pitches are quite sandy/muddy what you would expect for river side to be fair but when it rains obviously it becomes very muddy. We really liked this campsite it had a good location and nice amenities and we would definitely recommend it and come back if we wanted to be this end of the river.
We had a lovely time at Rives d'Arc. Location is well suited to explore the local area and the campsite itself is located by the Ardèche River, offered lots of activities that kept us busy including two swimming pools and a private entry to the river. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, guiding us to the most appropriate activities including the famous canoe trip. Our mobile home was nicely equipped with household items. Only thing missing was a chopping board (which we found strange). Recommend some insect repellent and bite cream, as with most of southern Europe lots of biting insects as the day turns to night !
