Latest reviews for CAMPING LA GRANDE MÉTAIRIE
Animation team is good, but it's a pity that when things are organized, it is only in French. There are quite a few English, Irish, Dutch, etc. Not everyone speaks French or can understand it. Service at the reception is excellent, but the service in the supermarket in the park is lacking. Pity. If you ask if it is possible to change, you are told very bluntly that they don't have any change, then they open the cash drawer, and it is full of change. How!The swimming pool is fantastic and clean. The food at the restaurant is very good, also the snack bar has a lot of variation of food like pizza, fish and chips etc etc. Not to expensive, but it was currently not the cheapest. But overall, food is really good.
2nd euro camp we have been to. This one is very tidy and clean. A great area too. 3 stars for service because for a lot of the day you can’t get food or drink. No place to get coffee or a snack. If I’m paying to stay here (even if it is off peak) I expect to be able to get food and drinks during the day when by pool etc. That said site has a good shop, only open a few hours.
Certainly not a 5 star site compared to others. We had an 'Ultimate' van which was shabby and on the smallest plot imaginable. Very different to the luxurious and spacious van we just stayed in at Port du Plaisance.Reception staff rude and un-accommodating. Despite that you can arrive on any day, would not rent out mini golf clubs on a Saturday due to being 'change-over day'.Swimming pools were all freezing and not sure how the lifeguards could see the pools from where they sit outside of the pool area.
Had a fantastic time. Only one gripe - avoid the snack bar. The average wait time for a pizza is 60-90 mins!!!
A huge site the pool area is its crowning glory beautifully maintained but the pitches themselves are crammed in and attention to detail here is a bit more lacking. That said it despite being so busy at night and early in the morning it was really quiet. Shop sells freshly baked bread and pastries on a morning which was a great plus point
