CAMPING SANDAYA L'ORÉE DU BOIS

First of all, this camping is rather a 3/4 star camping than a 5 star. When we arrived, the glasses and frying pan were dirty. A pity that the staff and animation team only spoke French (even the reception!). You would expect from a 5 star camping more service. There are around 400 houses in the park, the swimming pool was very crowded and all seats were occupied (in another words: the capacity of the swimming pool/seats dont match with a quantity of people). the floor near the pool was covered with some kind of artificial grass, which was not hygienic at all. The beaches nearby are really beautiful and worth a visit. Next time we will definitely choose for another camping.

Good location for the site but the cabins are all very close together, so you can hear absolutely everything and almost touch your neighbour.We were given the cabin right next to the football/basketball court, with all the associated noise and under a giant pine tree. This meant our pitch was in shade the whole time and everything was covered in pine sap, despite the small sail that was fastened above our decking.The pool facilities are good, very clean and plenty of space, given how busy it gets.The entertainment doesn't start until 9:30pm most evenings and lasts a good 2 hours, so getting an early night is difficult and it was too late for us to see any of them.The boules court, playground and tree tops course were very good. The shop is well stocked and good prices.Being close to the coast was lovely and there were a good choice of beaches with either good waves for bodyboards or calm bays for swimming.We loved the area but this was not the 5* site for us

Easily the noisiest french site I have ever stayed on in over 30 years of holidays. They put the football pitch in the middle of the cabins. This does not close until 9pm. Then the children continue to bounce balls around the lanes and others cabins. The evening entertainments don't even start until after 9pm and go on well after 11pm, despite there supposedly being a quiet time after 11pm (this is never enforced). The noise from the nearby Luna Park goes on until around midnight and can be heard on the opposite end of the site, so I imagine all the adjacent sites suffer the same fate. The cabins are clean and functional, but the choice of lighting in the living room and decking is either off or full daylight. The "mixer" tap on the kitchen sink was either lava hot or cold.The water park is good, with good slides, fun water features, whirlpools, jacuzzis, a normal swimming pool and plenty of loungers or deckchairs, although it may take a few minutes waiting at the busiest times.The shop is very well stocked and open at appropriate times. Prices are to be expected given the distance to the nearest supermarket. Staff are friendly and helpful.Great if you want a party atmosphere. Not so if you're after the quiet family site advertised.
